    TMARS?

Anyone ever heard of this company? I was looking for the elusive 27.2 seat dropper, and I stumbled across this on eBay:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-TMARS-Ad...item1e6df75843

Way cheaper and also lighter than the KS or X-Fusion. All I could find was this webpage though with different specs: http://www.tmars.com.tw/pro.php?m=d&pid=86&cid=3&f=3 (and 55mm span sounds like a horrible idea). There aren't any reviews on the seatpost or the brand either, just this youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qbi3NFPPutw

Wondering if they are re-branded from someone else or are they just complete knock-offs? For less than $100, I'm wondering if it could at least last a season.

Soooooo... The big name manufacturers can't seem to get it right, and you're gonna trust the Taiwanese "SUPER BICYCLE SHOP." I bet their QC is right up there with Lexus.

$98 to create and change your joyful life seems like a bargain!

Basically looks like a Gravity Dropper clone.

That's the question. Some of these companies are actually producing the big name manufacturers product, then taking some and rebranding them. Don't act like the QC on these is that great to begin with.

If it is a Gravity Dropper clone, that would be a good thing since it's one of the most simple, reliable designs out there. If you pull the trigger, you should report back with a review.

Something tells me Gravity Dropper's QC is a little higher.

"1. We sales item and ship to the Worldwide!"

Interestingly, the Ebay auction shows a 95mm drop while the webpage shows 55/110mm.

Gravity dropper uses magnets for the engagement. That thing looks like it probably just has a spring loaded pin that seats into holes drilled in the inner shaft. No idea what the practical ramifications of that are.

If you need a 27.2, gravity dropper makes one (although not for $98).

It's about as simple a mechanism as it's possible to make. I like that. The only worry is, like the Gravity Dropper, that seatposts with holes in them can crack and fail over time (some Clydes have this problem with the GD).

If I didn't have a perfectly good AMP I'd probably try it out.

    Magnets. How do they work?

The Classic model uses magnets, but the Turbo model is a spring loaded pin design, and it works really, really well.

This looks like it has to be the same basic design. how well it works/the quality/durability? Well, who knows? Availability of spare parts? Other aftermarket bits that might work in a pinch?

If shipping from taiwan wasn't so slow I'd buy one to try out.
