The Project Engineer is responsible for application review, technical design and engineering drawing package document control of systems, ensuring that appropriate groups have input into the custom system design process, generating system test document, system integration with PLC and DAS, System test, and Client witnessed functional test. Assist in regulatory certification activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/FUNCTIONS
• Design of CEMS according to customer contracts(s), specification, and with input from team members.
• Work with project managers to insure scope is defined and specification is met.
• Generate drawing package using Auto CAD.
• Application review for proper selection of equipment.
• Specify materials to meet design.
• Maintain customer documentation and engineering design data.
• Knowing and executing procedures outlined in company ISO requirements.
• Design of CEMS, including preparing needed documentation, manuals, drawings, work instructions, and preparing Bills of Materials (BOMS), create spare parts lists, write test documents, performing system test and factory acceptance test.
• Meet with manufacturing to review design and insure proper build. Give guidance to manufacturing throughout build to insure design is met.
• Schedule and conduct technical review meeting with all members of project team.
• Training customers in the use of design specific CEMS equipment and its maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and debug customer hardware and assist in the debug of software (in house, in the field, or over the phone with customers and field service representatives)
• Public speaking and client presentations, client interface via phone or on-site/in-house visits.
• Travel to customer sites in an industrial environment up to 30% travel may be required.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist other employees by providing technical expertise.
• Write Engineering Change Orders (ECO)
• Train other employees to expand companies knowledge basis.
• Assist regulatory department in system certification activities.
Job Requirements: • BS Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or other.
• One year experience in Instrumentation and Controls or direct CEMS work or 2 or more years experience in industrial position.
• Familiarity of all applicable regulations EPA 40 CFR 60 and 75 as an example.
• Knowledge and application of applicable electrical codes.
• Working knowledge of PC operating systems.
• Working knowledge of PC hardware configuration.
• Working knowledge of Auto CAD 2D software.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
