    Berthoud is beautiful

There are few things better than a powder day at the Pass, this day in particular was 1.10.2005.

Go deep and they'll never find you. Do you honestly think that pics on a message board about terrain passed by multiple tens of thousands of motorists a week has a noticeable effect on users? Unlike many others, you won't find me writing a detailed TR about my adventures. Not my style and probably not yours either. What do you think about guide books? Photos in magazines etc.? Honestly, I get your point and agree with much of what you have to say. I just question whether the actions of the FOBP and it's members are the root cause of all the evil you mention. I'd rather see a slightly higher amount of educated and respectful skiers than a lesser quantity of disrespectfull dorks. What is you opinion on places like Kootenay Pass, Teton Pass, etc. They are heavily promoted and get hammered as well. It seems the quality of the skier and knowledge is much higher. What to you suggest. Seriously.

That first pic is sweet!! Too bad you can't get turns like that any more at Berthoud, it's too crowded, that was taken on a Sunday back in Jan 2005. Those were the good ole days.

Despite the dude's crass delivery, he actually makes some good points. I find it valuable to discuss my views and opinions with others that see things in another light. The FOBP forms its postions and objectives from the backcountry users of the pass. I honestly wish more disenting views were presented. It would at clarify to me the direction we should take going forward.

I hear what your saying, but I'm less willing to suffer the fools. Probably an age thing.

I think if somebody's intelligent enough to have anything meaningful to offer, they ought to be intelligent enough to know that waving their dick in the air isn't a valid point or counterpoint.

Yea but when you do it by waving your dick in the air you get your own prime time show on FOX news!

Do you think trip reports like this bring more traffic to areas like Berthoud? If so, why do it? Is it to stroke your ego and get your 15 minutes of " aw sick bro, you rock" from your internet buddys or are you trying to bring more people to the area? In my view its one or the other. (or both)

Trip reports do not bring more people to an area like berthoud..........the million and a half people who have moved to the greater denver area in the past fifteen years bring more people to an area like berthoud.

Oh and wasn't berthoud like a real ski area with lifts and stuff a few years ago??

I don't think the purpose of a trip report is either. It may be a bit of an ego stroke, but the point of trip reports is to spread ski stoke. Last time I checked this was an internet forum to discuss snow sports. Not a place to be an elitest dick.

    Nice pics, Ireallyliketoski.

You can find God in the church of your choice, you can find Woody Guthrie at Brooklyn State hospital. I know it's only my opinion, I may be right or wrong, but you'll find them both at Berthoud Pass sundown.
