I had an iphone 7 from 2016, the battery was dying on plus I wanted wireless charging, so I got an iphone 12 mini which was like $780 but they gave me $580 for my old phone so basically $200 for a new phone, seems pretty reasonable I guess.
Nice, but I personally cannot do apple products.
yeah it wasn't like I wrangled a great deal, I walked in, that was what they gave me.
I fight some other battles, like no FB etc., but I surrendered to Apple a long time ago and I'm probably a lifer at this point.
Sprint is rolling into T-Mobile as part of their merger. All the Sprint Stores (corporate or franchise) and now pretty much T-Mobile and they have 2 different systems for the orders. I'd look at a Motorola - a couple including their G series if you want something under $3-- a few others like the One series under $400 dollars and their Edge under $500. Fully unlocked series directly from Motorola and would handle Sprint or T-Mobile towers if you want to switch Sim to a full GSM. How important is 5G, you mention you want a nice camera so compare the various models from the camera and things like screen size if that is important also to you (smaller to fit in pocket, or are you wanting the biggest screen out there approaching a tablet.)
There are some refurbished/ but still used of course Google Pixel 3 series on Woot also if you want to go that route definitely priced under $200.... Most all the Pixels since released have had great cameras.
Get a protective case and helps to have a glass screen protector also for whatever you are going to carry if you are the type that drops your phone regularly.
If you are going new Pixel, check the deals for Google Project Fi. Even if you do not stay with the service, it used to be cheaper to sign up for their service (based on Sprint and T-Mobile towers) for the 3 months-and have to transfer and port your number. They discounted the phone (like the Pixel 4a 5G is regularly $499 retail and if you purchase and activate the phone on a new Project Fi plan they offer a discount of $200 for $299.... Read the fine print, they used to allow it to be moved to any other carrier if you decide Project Fi is not working for you for any reason (after 120 days of using their service)... https://fi.google.com/about/promo-te...su-pixel-4a-5g

The new SE isn’t too big. Just replaced my old SE.

Yeah, I’ve handled the new SE. My wife has one. It’s tempting just to keep the home button but I really prefer a small phone. Thanks
Have been recently revisiting this Fi option. Currently unlimited 3 lines $17/ea. (4 is same). Nyc metro, so tmobile should be as solid as big red.
Currently with big red, highest unlimited, but barely use vz network (less than 10gb/mo or less). Pay $230+ taxes/mo. Wife and I are pixel diehards..issue is the 1 kid phone, Of course IPhone. There are some caveats to Fi and iPhones.
I have vz 4a 5g so I can dual sim. Considering trying coverage and switching. Easy $150/mo. That IPhone though. Grrr

Been on visible for a year now. $25/ mos unlimited data and runs on the big V network. Performance has been no different than Red V was.

We are on my wife's company's group plan on sprint, so no changing carriers.
5g nice buy not a must have, I'm in Truckee 99% of the time, Coverage around here and the basin isn't the best even for lte.

$580 for your old phone? That seems high, given you can get a new SE for less than that. Did the deal require a new contract?
Just treaded a 7 in to Apple for probably $100, so very curious to learn more.

I want to know how you people were rocking phones from 2016??? Nobody in family has gotten that many years out of a phone. The battery always goes to shit. What are we doing wrong???
Verizon is offering me a free upgrade to a Samsung S20 FE in a month. I figure it'll be such a leap up from my S7 that i should jump on it. Anyone have any experience with one?
I've replaced the battery in my nexus 6p once which caused one of the " mechanical issues" leading me to replace it now. I got too aggressive prying the glued on back cover off with a tiny scalpel and killed the side volume control buttons, like 2 years ago.
It recently took a hard drop while not in its case (duh) and has a very cracked screen and the headphone jack is broken. Pieces of the screen glass are missing and i can see the guts inside. It's only a matter of time before its a brick.
