    Here's a simple rudimentary table:

    Function ƒ(x) Inverse ƒ−1(y) Notes
    x + a ya
    ax ay
    mx y / m m ≠ 0
    1 / x 1 / y x, y ≠ 0
    x2 x, y ≥ 0 only
    x3 no restriction on x and y
    xp y1/p (i.e. ) x, y ≥ 0 in general, p ≠ 0
    ex ln y y > 0
    ax loga y y > 0 and a > 0
trigonometric functions inverse trigonometric functions various restrictions (see table below)

    Wait....do you mean inversion BOOTS???

I have one. It's great. I use it whenever my back gets jacked up. It helps a ton.

Also, on mine you can unhook the strap that limits the range and take it completely vertical. Then you can do a modified sit-up. Basically you are hanging vertically upside down and doing crunches.

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

The one I found for $40 at a yard sale.

OK, I just went and looked. It is some generic brand called Body Champ.

From my limited experience, the difference in them is in the things that hold your ankles. It seems the more expensive ones have more comfortable ways to clamp you in. There's one at Costco right now that's like $150. But look on Craigslist and I bet you can find one cheap. That's how I found mine.

Edit: I just looked on Amazon. You can get a slightly improved version of mine for $130: http://www.amazon.com/Body-Champ-IT8.../dp/B001IBIQ5Q - on Prime, so shipping is free if you have Amazon prime. That one is pretty similar to mine (better handles). But the one I saw at Costco looked like it had more comfortable leg restraints.

my chiro mentioned a study that found issues with inversion tables causing excessive ocular pressure when you're upside down, but i've never heard of it before or since, not that i've looked. i have one. it doesn't fix anything, but it does provide some relief.

I have and use one. It helps a lot. Don't know the model.

My chiro had a couple of good suggestions. First, hydrate. This makes sense in general, but since you're stretching out your back, if you're well hydrated, you'll get good fluid into the joints. Also, if you have any soreness in your spine, make sure you come back to vertical slowly. You don't want to slam back to vertical and make anything worse. I've found that when I'm in pain, there's no way I'd come back vertical quickly. I just take it easy.

acu-pressure massage. hot older little chinese ladies who are NOT there for hand jobs know what they are doing.

I even call and ask, "Korean or chinese", Korean are usually whores, Chinese are usually therapeutic. 40 bux an hour is cheap health.

I have both an inversion table and gravity boots.
If my back is really bad I use the table but if I want to just stretch or use it as an exersice I prefer the boots. The boots give you more room to move around and twist.
I made a bar out of pipe from the ceiling in the garage. I tied a rope and handle to it to help grab the pipe when done. Try doing inverted squats, a leg burner.
Side, back and front crunchs are great for the core. When I get down to rest between sets I get on my Pivit board.
I feel too confined on the table and it takes up alot of space.
