That's pretty much how I would envision a heli trip
I can't believe you are a rando racer because I look so much better in Lycra than you.

One thing I perhaps neglected in the TR was to give adequate credit to our triple-D cup of Guides:

    -Don Sheraf
    -Dylan Freed
    -Doug Workman

An entire week of continuously cat herding a bunch such as ourselves on the kind of terrain we were acccessing, assessing snow quality and stabilty from the top, then taking the sharp end would have left me a nervous wreck.

    Thanks again guys!

In spite of what I said at the beginning of the TR, I've actually had pretty good luck with pick-up crews up there. It is pretty rare any more that people going on an AK heli-trip don't have any idea what they might be getting into. The whole "training for Alaska" thing may be something of a joke anymore, but it really does help make sure that one doesn't end up with a really weak link.
