Smoki O's was the best BBQ I had there when I lived there. Pig snout is the local "thing".

Yemanja is a fun/good Brazilian restaraunt (not steakhouse).

City Museum is a fun and cheap date diversion kind of place, serves beer at night.

    Schlafly taproom?

I dunno, I mainly got out of town or wandered around drunk.

NOT get raped, robbed or murdered. Those are fun things NOT to to do in St. Louis.

I can tell you what I do, fill up the tank about 50 miles east or west of St. Louis and drive until it is time to fill up again, not even stopping in that abysmal swelter pot of crime.

I like St. Louis. The disc golf is great, Jefferson Barracks, Creve Coeur, Endicott and Sioux Passage are all great courses. I haven't been to the City Museum but I've heard its cool and I plan on going there the next time I'm there. The Budweiser tour is pretty interesting and you get two free beers.

st. louis is for Italian food, not BBQ. Go to Trattoria Marsala, it is where old time gangsters ate. The Art museum is free. The zoo is awesome and free. The science center is free. The Central West end is funky and fun to walk around. Just don't go to the north side alone, or with a friend, or with a small army. You will be shot.

City Museum, Cards game, Italian food on the hill, I remember Zia's was good. St. Louis is not a bbq mecca, it's just a way of cutting the rib rack.
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

also - pappy's is supposed to be some of best bbq in USA.

Really, there isn't shit to do but run and drink, both of which just happen to have become my pastimes - a cool dude named Meatdrink9 once lived here - I could show you his apartment!

    if you're an adolescent.

Seriously, it's a giant playground designed and built by hippies and put on steroids. Very cool, but for kids.

Pappy's Smokehouse was some of the best BBQ I've had, Smoking Joe's sucked balls.

I will second or third or whatever Drewes frozen custard, Pappys Bbq is teh shit and the City Museum is amazing. Bonus is Pappys is kind of near the museum. Oh and the St Louis Zoo rocks too if you dig displaced caged animals.

You ask me why I make my home in the mountain forest, and I smile, and am silent, even my soul remains quiet: it lives in the other world which no one owns. The peach trees blossom. The water flows.

St. Louis is like Chicago use to be in the fact that some places are ridiculously safe & others are the opposite.Blues game would be a hot ticket,Cardinals game is always rockin, have some drinks at the Broadway Oyster Bar before the game. For Pizza- Farotto's in Rockhill ,you can order Mozzarella if you like , I do. Fast food- Lion's Choice Roast Beef,Italian- Gitto's on the Hill, the place where toasted ravioli was invented & the only place to eat it.BBQ-Pappy's, Snouts be the thang across the river in East St. Louis , a place 10x's scarier than anything in St. Louis or anywhere else in the country for that matter.Sandwich on the hill,Mama Toscano's takeout or Adriana's,instead of Ted Drewes frozen custard, go to Jennifer's Pharmacy & Soda Shop for an old school soda or milkshake.City Museum. If you go to the strip clubs in ILL, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT get lost or make a wrong turn & end up in East St Louis at night. The Central West End is cool as is the Loop on Delmar- do not leave the demarcation zones in either place, Forest Park is the largest city park in the country, just stay out of the area known as "The Fruit Loop", unless that's your thing! Last but not least the correct spelling is Misery.

    See the Arch.

    See the Budweiser Clydestale barn.

Taste the ''private stock'' newest Anheiser-Busch owned micro brew in the tasting room.

Ha! I just did this about two hours ago. I took your advice seriously and gassed up in a ritzy area about 35 miles West of the city. However from 70, I missed the 64 East exit in the darkish drizzle.

In my VW Bus, I got off at the first exit and did a quick turn around and got on 64. Whew!

Currently roadtripping to Cape Hetteras with the kids. Somehow I tricked Mrs. SIJ into letting me leave with the kids for Spring.

Jackson to Hatteras in a VW Bus? Nice! Do you know where in Hatteras you're going? Man I love that place, it's been a few years. Have a blast wherever you end up. Going sailing?

holy shit Ted Drewes! YES. grandparents lived there and always went there when we headed down from chicago. And if you're white or care to live, don't go to E. St. Louis. ended up there once on accident and ran every red light trying to get out. get pulled over on edge of town and cop comes up to me and says" Boy, there's only 2 reasons for you to be here: 1. you're lost, 2. you're buying drugs.<pause> I REALLY hope you're fucking lost" He then told us to get the fuck back across the river. funny thing is I used to go skate as a teenager in carbrini green and other shitholes all over chicago and never felt very threatened.
