FS: Giant DH Team w/Dorado, Yeti 575 frame?

I'll get some pics up shortly, but I'm selling my DH bike in order to buy a new one. It's still in great shape.

Asking $2250 EDIT: reduced to $2100.

Frame, size M (I'm 5'8" if that helps), has 1 season of use, and I didn't race the whole season - it was brand new when I got it. No dents, just a couple of scratches, nothing serious.

Shock is a Manitou Swinger 6-way - totally rebuilt by Manitou at Mammoth - so it's got 2 runs on it (well, technically 1.5 runs on it...)

Fork is a Manitou Dorado - absolutely sweet fork. Von and Krispy did some normal maintenance on it this summer, so it's been well maintained. It's got a scratch on a stanchion, but nothing that causes any leaking. It's nice and smooth. I'm trying to figure out how to afford another Dorado to put on my new bike.

SRAM 9.0 gripshift, Hayes Discs, drivetrain and hubs are fine, the chainguide on this bike is awesome - you cannot drop a chain with this system, wheels are okay and the tires have 2 races on them... I thought I'd throw it on here now if anyone's interested before I pay to list it on MTBR.







I might be selling my 575 frame too (M, Black). So make me an offer if you're interested in that!

Kind of a tough thing to do, because I love both bikes (and I love the blue color...), but I've been thinking it financially makes sense to sell them while there still in good shape if I can get a deal on new frames. And I think a DHR and a 5-Spot would probably make me quite happy too...

AG, you gonna get a 2005 or a 2004 5 spot? looks to me like the 2005 comes with an air shock? do you know if you can switch it out for a coil over shock?

Damn, that's a good point. I just assumed you could put a coilover on it, since you could on the previous models. Time to do more research...

Anyway, back on the 5-spot, I think even if I stick with an air shock that's probably fine. I'm going to try MTX this year and a pumped up air shock seems to be pretty common if you don't have more of a DJ hardtail type bike. And it wouldn't be much different than my 575. It would be sweet to have a trail bike, DH bike and MTX bike, but that's WAY out of my financial realm of possibility.

I did a little research which pretty much said you should at least try it with the air shock because it's supposed to be so good, before you try adding a coilover. Which really - I was fine with the 5th Air on my 575, and the new Fox is supposed to be better (though it's new, who knows...), so maybe they're right.

Looks like great bikes but....
Can't go wrong with Turner. They do take care of you well and they stand behind their bikes.
From what I have read I think you won't be disappointed if your 5spot comes with a Fox RP3. All I see are good reviews of these shocks. If you get it Pushed they will tweak up and personally set up your shock to your type of riding but that is a bit more $$.
Some even like the RP3 over the coil/shock (Fox DHX) but I think that depends on the type of riding you do??
But I like coil over air but that is just my opinion..........however I have not rode a bike with a RP3.

I have a Turner with a Fox Vanilla RC (Pushed) and just love it.

It's a Medium, which would be the 18".

Hmm. You sure? The Giant Website lists the 2004 DH Team as being available in 15", 16.5", 17.5", and 19" (the 18" I posted earlier comes from the 2005 version - my bad).

If it's a 17.5" frame, I could be sorely tempted... they're a very nice bike indeed.

Ok, to answer my own question: It turns out the Giant frame sizes for the US market are different to Canada. In Canada, the frame size is given in inches, but in the US they dumb it down and give the size as "XS, S, M, L". That means this bike has the 17.5" frame.
