    I don't get it.

isn't it bad juju to tell somebody else your mantra? very private, they say.

extreeski's starting to look sort of trollish.

I actually suspect that if anybody had any REAL beta they'd be spewing it on the board first thing...

    I have two pair.

    thanks

And yes, I know what a mantra is. It ain't a MAN tra. I think the volkl gotama mantra (not the karma) names are cool. Cause for me, when skiing is really good its spiritual.

    Who can deny?

I look forward to the review.

It has way more sidecut than the explosiv.

I did. Mantra is a good ski. Great edge hold and a semi twin. The rep told me its the same as the explosive as far as construction, with 10 more mm's at the tip and one less mm under foot. Turned pretty well but just had very little life to it. Fairly light ski as well.

Very little life.... meaning exactly what? Damp?

Meaning Duker is too light for the 184 Mantra he skied. Sorry Duker, I'm really not taking a shot at you. Had you tried the 177s, I would hazard a guess that your review of the ski would be entirely different.

Personally, I'm thrilled that I can get a 184. The 180 Explosiv was always shorter than what I was looking for and the 190 was a bit too burly.

i have ridden them very little, i have the 84, they look damn sexy, its a softer explosive with a big gotama spatula, the combo works.

sorry, i skipped, its a shorter length ski, i am use to longer (193 shanook, 190 gotama, 190 explosive, 186 legend pro are my previous rides) i took that set-up to complete my quiver, its going to be my tourers, a lite set-up and quick turner.

its a seth pistol with a little less sidecut and a tad stiffer without the big tail... the dimmensions are quite similar to the pro rider in a lite feel to them...

    Thumbs down

So does that mean they are not as stiff and bomber as the Explosives?

does it do as well on hardpack as pistols seem to do? also, being lighter, does it still destroy crud and cut up like an explosiv?

it seem to work well for me on hard pack, basically there is no powder here. these skis do nothing but tempt me,

its been too long since i have ridden the pistols to compare...but i like the less sidecut, wich i like.

    no crud was ridden here....

    salivate on this

    Dude,

Let's get to the facts now: Are these as stiff as the old Explosives or not?

Damn that it's softer, I really hoped for an Explosive-like flex.
Think I will try it nevertheless.

Sweet. I think the gotama flex is pefect, stiff enough, but doesn't kill you. Excited to try these.
