    Early Jackson report

This place needs snow. or sun.Trying to find lines in north facing trees. But the base is great.

But the women look great! Where did all these good looking women come from? Can they ski? I expected a long week of dirtbags.

Even the north facing slopes got cooked last week. Right now, the best snow is on low-angle groomers, unfortunately. If it warms up or gets sunny, head for steep south facing slopes - Cirque in particular will soften right up in the sun.

Yes, and I have naked pictures to prove it.

Day 2 is the same. Ventured beyond the gates, and nice on top, but the bottom is all crust.

Demos off the Gondola! good deal, $5 an hour. Fischer, Salomen, K2, some big stuff.I'm gonna try the Scratch BC.

Usually, if we get a cold, sunny, high-pressure day, with single digit high temps in the valley, there will be an inversion and temps from 30-50 degrees on the hill. That, plus heat from direct sunlight, makes for soft snow.

Reporting the same as BP. I skied Jackson on Friday and found it pretty firm. There was a great base as he said, and some softer snow in the trees and shadows. Most anything that was in the sun was scratchy as hell. Still had good times and got hamboned at the MM. I don't know that I'll make it back down for the SUmmit, bummer.

On a another note, the Pass looked much softer. Bring yer skins

Hate to turn this into a diary, but since a few people are going to be here soon.......

Targhee is in MUCH better shape than JH at the moment. First day of sunshine after 7-8-10 inches over a few dayz. God, that place is pretty. Hikingwas happening in almost everywhere allowed. Not much crust at all. Jeez, great scenery, no crowds.
