    Where would you go...(NSR)

If you earned a fully paid luxury vacation for one week......where would you go? Skiing or non-skiing.....

I'll take your heli trip and raise you a heli trip with a luxury cruise liner as base camp.

I would have suggested Mauritius or Goa but post tsunami, I dunno.

You might consider taking a trip to Asia anyway and spend half the money and most of the time helping rebuild. Guaranteed to be a trip you'll never forget. I'd think pretty hard about it, but that's just me.

hmm....heli trip, of course. But heli skiing is pretty done by May correct?

Pinner -- that is a truly great idea.

ok, so now we know we are talking about you for this coming spring.

yeah, i think heli skiing is done by may. is this trip in addition to going to south america this summer? if so, maybe just extend your trip to SA.

Or, why not put the money aside for a heli trip next year?

hypothetically. It's would be a bonus in addition to normal accrued vaca time.

If ANY of you are interested in the altru-tourism idea, I'd be happy to reel in some connections and help start you in the right direction.

it would depend on the time of year, but if you want to spend time in a city i would go to buenos aires, rio de janiero, or sydney. if you want an island with some culture and history many of the greek islands would be outstanding. if you want an island with not too many people i would go to some of the exclusive resorts near/in fiji, or the marqueses. or, if you want an island with a lot of night life try either maui, tahiti, majorca or ibiza. ( i think i have a warm weather island fixation )

Pinner - tried your PM but no shirt, no shoes, no dice.

This sounds very interesting. I usually get time for one vacation a year and a trip to help re-build after the tsunami would be a worthwhile endeavor.

If you are putting together some information for others, I would appreciate being put on the list of those in the know.

    Thanks in advance.

Pinner, Stu sent me my Chubbs totally free, just to help me get back to skiing easier.

If someone comes to me with concrete interest and is serious about it, I'll go through the effort to help and will flex some personal connections. Otherwise I, unfortunately, simply don't have the time to go on a fishing trip for information that may or may not be used.

That would make sense. I misread the initial post and thought you were working for an organization which was hosting these trips.

I just finished watching Globe Trekker, they went to India and it looked really great. Not the luxo trip, and India is so big and crazy that it doesn't cvount as a suggestion. Goa looked amazing.
With ski season canceled here in the PNW I have been thinking about a carribbean scuba trip. Belize is great, I've been there and would go again. Costa Rica or Honduras, maybe Venezuela too. Belize is really easy because of no language issues.
Do you want to DO something in particular, or learn something, or just super-relax and eat good food? Narrow the parameters.
Another trip I saw over on www.gadling.com (awesome travel blog) was a bike tour with the Utah Adventure Cycling Association riding through some of the great national parks and monuments.
