    Talking HAHAHAHA (craigslist related)

I've heard of these scams involving mountain bikes , laptops and other shit, but I have to give this guy mad props for even trying to pull this shit

So I see this steeze-mobile for a dirt cheap $12,500

Since it's a slow Friday at work I'm gonna see how I can string this suck along ebolamonkeyman style.

    Sir,
Here are the all information that you need:
I sell the car so cheap because i ve just get married and i need money to buy a new house, so a sacrafice must be done.
The vehicle is very well kept, I mean only in my own garage, it has no
scratches, all parts are original and it was never been involved into an
    accident.
I'm the original owner of the car and it is now located in London,England.
It has very low miles it, driven almost all miles on the highway.
If you want to buy it, I can send the Mercedes ML through Airbourne Express and the delivery time will be within about 6 or 7 working days,
so you will receive the car directly to your home address.
You will be able to inspect the car for one week.
I will ship prior to payment.after the car is shipped i will receive a tracking# from Airborne Co.i will provide you with that number so you can check the shippment status online.
After you check and see that the car was shipped you will western union the shipping money to me.After the car will be in your garrage you'll send the rest of the balance, meaning the full amount minus the shipping fees.
    Please get back to me
    thanks

That's sweet to get the car delivered to your door too. I mean, you really can't go wrong on this one.

I guess they're using this scam the other way around, too. You list a car for sale, they say they will buy it sight unseen, but please ship the car to the UK. They will pay for shipping, and you ship the car off after receiving their bogus cashier's check. By the time your bank determines the check is fake your car is en route to Europe.

I'll be interested to see where Punani takes this one...

Here's a reply I got after I refused to send pictures to a foreign inquiry to buy my car on CL:

Due to company policy this check has to be made out in this amount to
you, because company policy only allows a refund payment on one cashier
check, so you are required to deduct cost of your car - $6,100 when
payment gets to you and refund balance $6,900 to my customer's shipping
agent via western union money transfer or money gram transfer
for him to be able to offset shipping charges. After payment has
reached you and balance sent back to his shipping agent who will come for the pick up and drive to a prepaid shipper to be shipped to my customer,
while title papers and other necessary documents wi ll be sent by you
via fedex courier to my customer. Please Confirm this and provide name,
address and phone number for check payment to be delivered to you via
    fedex courier.

    Thanks and God Bless Management
(it looked way sweeter in it's cursive-ish font that it was originally in)

I wasn't as creative as I should have been in my reply. I basically just told him to fuck off.

It amazes me that people actually fall for this stuff.
    It's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.

I've got a couple of "cashier's checks" from the Nigerian Western Union scam from trying to sell my bike last summer. They total $6,000. If anyone else on the board has some, we should send them to Punani and he can forward them on to the scammers.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that key point: how you have to refund them some money. I guess it wouldn't be much of a scam otherwise.

ProTip: Never give a scammer your real address. Not even if it means you'd get a cool forged bank check as a souvenir.

thanks for the pro tip. The checks were sent to my PO Box. Here is my reasononing for stringing them along. To have a check sent overnight, FedEx from Nigeria has to be around $70, the effort to have the checks made, these were actually pretty good, well one was the other marginal, costs these ass clowns as well. So they are out their time, effort and hard cash.
