That thing has gone viral in record time. My daughter sent me the link last night, a friend in California sent it to me this morning, and a woman I know in canada sent it to me an hour ago. Pretty wild. Worth watching and thinking about at the very least.

A girl I know I guess gave this organization a bunch of her time and money. My take, its a sweet gesture and shes awesome for caring, but, not a very smart use of resources. There are ways to use that money to actually HELP people, not just chase after a shadow. I am speaking out of ignorance, but I highly doubt this guy ever gets caught. Its africa, who knows where he is.

I havent watched the vid yet cus I havent felt like crying like a little girl yet, and my connection isnt the greatest, but I doubt the organization is raising money to offer a cash reward for his capture/head? That might get some replies. Probably a few heads would show up as a result of mistaken id, but hey, people like game of thrones right?

So what is the deal? Raise awareness? Lots of paper waste from the posters, lots of money spent that could be buying food/medicine/hell even guns where they are needed. Fuck 'awareness' I know they are trying to influence members of the government, but still...

Raising awareness is just a way to help 1st worlders justify their lack of guilt for moving on with their lives after hearing about some really sad fucked up shit in the world.

I'd never say this to her face though because I happen to be enamored with her and her vagina and would like to be acquainted with it again at some point. I kinda hope I'm proven wrong and they easily catch the guy, he is quite the asshole.

Also, I might be a bit selfish, but if people actually get up in arms enough to make the government do something about this, I will be glad, but it will mostly make me shake my head that they arent willing to get that up in arms about the very real very scary things going on inside our own country. Nobody will be arresting supporters of this though.

Last time I checked, the guy is on the run, most likely no longer in Uganda, but that said, he has lived in the Jungle for the last 25 years, and had gotten pretty good about not getting caught. Of course, he is merely continuing the trend of shitty leadership in Africa, will whoever shows up next be any better? It is not like the Ugandan Army is free of crimes against humanity.

Invisible Children gets shit on by other international aid groups, and for good reason, they have a habit of funneling large portions of their donations into their own pockets, spend way to much money on travel, and buy weapons for other forces in Africa, all of which take the moral high ground.

Joseph Kony will die, but it is gonna be done by either by 10th and 3rd SFGs, or old age, not a bunch of Idiots in developed countries posting on their Facebook profile.

Good article. When I watched the video, it almost seems more about the narrator making a name for himself than anything. I found it odd this organization is so well-financed by college students giving away a few dollars a month. And then I read only 32% is going to direct aid. Something isn't right.
