    Before and After

Just dug up an old picture of the Bullit, taken just after the build up. It's funny how much the bike has changed. Initially, my goal was to have a one quiver bike. I put on a long stem, a setback seatpost with an easily adjustable angle and skinny tires. I was also really close to putting 175 cranks on it. Fortunately I came to my senses. I realized that if I really wanted to push it, I needed a more dedicated bike. I ditched the boxxer, put a short stem on and set the seat to rear-lean permanently (actually, the bolt is stripped, so I have little choice). I was also blessed with the revelation that is SRAM. The bike has been ridden hard, and it shows, especially in the paint. But, mechanically, the thing is tip top. In the time I've owned this bike, I've watched numerous other bikes succumb to the pressure, but not this girl. She's been dropped, hucked, jumped and even taken some podium finishes, and is still riding strong as ever (with a little help from a Progressive factory tune). It's about time to move on, I need something a bit more race oriented. However, I can't discount the way this bike has performed....sniffle.

Le Boooleee, right after she was first put together:

    End of last summer (pre-SRAM):

Like the current setup best. I tired the "make a light long travel freeride bike with the vpfree" didn't work for around KY. Sold it and now set up a heckler for some freeride stuff and general dorking around. Now I'm moving to NY and will need a dh bike at some point. fun stuff

That is not the same bike man.

No I am just playin. I do like the addition of the rear tire, that looks like some serious meat. The 888 is a hell of an upgrade too. I remember playing on that bike years ago, when you first got it, but now it looks sick and prolly rides a ton better. And, if you are talking smack about my Dare, I do understand.
A gay-rage full of toys. You can guess em.

Nah, none of yours have broken, have they? Well the ovalized head tube on the new one, but the old one was a bolt or something I thought. Anyway, I was more referring to the catastrophic failures I've seen at Snowshoe. That's a good point though, Ellsworths are pieces of shit.

L8, I didn't know you sold the VPFree. Did you like it while you owned it? There's a dude that tears Snowshoe up on a Heckler, BTW. It doesn't get much more versatile than that bike. What are you looking at for a DH machine?

I got into the vpfree without trying the size. I got a medium and it was a bit short. I then decided to sell it get a heckler and then score a Sunday this spring. The vp ripped at general riding. It was a great bike, but two bikes are sometimes better than one.
