I truly feel (and hope) that if he had worked for Alta Lifts, he would have been gone as soon as this bullshit started drawing attention. Wow, we headed off to BC last Thursday for a SWEET ski trip with great friends and missed all of this bullshit. I gave up on reading anything in the ski forum a long time ago as the internet tools took over that side of TGR, now it’s being spread here too. This thread (and the other one about the same topic) have to be an example of the biggest losers on the internet to date. WTF happened to skiing being fun? It’s not all about who got the raddest, who toured the furthest, who wear’s what… it really isn’t. I realize internet forums are now just for that but seriously, what have these two threads in particular proven or provided to any community?

Loser #1 actually uses a Go-Pro to film Loser #2 give him shit for being a Fucktard. Loser #2 really heats up FB with shit that should get his teeth knocked in. Loser #1 keeps fanning the flames, being egged on by internet losers from just about everywhere but where the “act of aggression” took place. Soul-Brother stoners from every canyon north of LCC join in stating “how it is at Alta”, even though they don’t ski there. What a fucking waste.

Guess what? There are assholes EVERYWHERE. Learn to ignore them. Live your life without even noticing them. It works. I’ve been here for 12 seasons now and learned a few years ago that it really is best to just ski past all of them.

No bro, I'm not too stoked on all of this. As I have stated before, I got called out for being "discourteous" in line and taking a shortcut to get to the front, it's no different than anybody who calls out "singles" and ducks the rope. I was just intending to do a little more civilized version of that.

Jon Wade called me out for it, I didn't feel I was in the wrong and stood my ground. Shit obviously escalated from that point. I am truly thankful it stopped when it did, because based on what we now know, if there was any further altercation it may have ended with myself and Mr. Wade in police custody.

This whole episode is full of lessons to be taken away. I never intended for unofficialbird to grab the video and viral the fuck out of it. I intended to post it here to show what aggressive behavior is present in the LCC as I was completely blown away that it happended. Sure my pride was hurt and I felt kinda trapped that I had my job, lift pass, police record, etc. on the line and couldn't react the way I would normally. Shit if we had fought it out we probably woulda/coulda ended up friends in the end. I'm sure we've all fought with our sisters or brothers or friends at some point.

But anyway, not to come to Jon's defense too much, but we have all lost it at some point. Shit, I've lost it many times and made and ass outta myself. Regardless of his behavior I didn't intend for a total shitstorm to come out of this.

We all need to take a step back and look at this whole situation for a moment and I will expound on what I have learned:
1) Don't be a douche in the lift line. If you cut, take shortcuts, get "aggro or get physical than we all lose. Gotta consider others next time.
2) Think before you post shit on the internet, as society evolves, so does the level of integration with real life. Stuff on here has repercussions.
3) Repeat of #2 - I got pissed off and posted a video and it blew up huge, honestly that's the first time that happened. Gotta think more next time.
4)Maybe handle things more gentleman-like. The next time you want to loose your cool, just don't. Remember we all are here to get our piece of the pie, doesn't matter if it's on the ski hill or in traffic. Just play it cool.

I've learned more lessons than this from this incident, but TGR is not a place to stand on a fuckin' soapbox for too long, so I will step off it.

Jon, I'm sure you are pretty upset over all this, I truly hope this cools down soon. That's the nature of this fucked up life we live. Let's just vow to get the from it that we can. Props to you for spending 15+ years in the canyon gettin' after it and living the dream - your dream, cause there's a lot of us that never make the plunge. I'm glad I made it myself.

Such a shock that people called you out for cutting in line. You were the asshole in the wrong by being a dickhead. A couple of weeks ago, the lineup at Wildcat on a pow day saw your little Watson's contingent line up in that lane like it was OK. You wanna know the only reason why nobody called you out? i just wanted to ladle all the homophobic fun with more douchey unpleasantness. you know, it's like standing in line, enjoying your day of skiing, all is good, and then some douche comes along like the wade/luff incident, and it feels like a bucket of water in the face. no one wants to see the drama or hear it, especially when they're skiing. i can tell you, that anyone who pays upwards or $1800 a season for their ski pass, commits the time, the gas, the cost for gear every year, food, booze, snow tires, etc etc....it's quite an expensive activity, and the time commitment is huge. the last thing i want to see is an altercation in the lift line over a goddamn chair. put the fucking rope up. i really don't see the grand mystery. several posters have commented that this is something they see at alta on a regular basis, so i am not alone in my observation. it's also been made clear, that people have chosen not to ski there anymore for the very same reasons. the douchebaggery is out of control, and has been for a long time. you have employees in the canyon, like jon wade, who beat their chest "this is MY town, this is MY mountain, get the fuck out if you don't like it". well, it's not his town, and it's not his mountain. it's national forest lands owned by all of us. jon also does not reside in the town of alta, and does not vote in any town elections. he pays no property tax there. jon and others like him, do not bring business to alta, and they are also not responsible for the financial health of the ski resort. they have absolutely no impact whatsoever in any decision making as it relates to the town or business commerce. he doesn't have a fucking clue. he runs the damn laundry machines at the peruvian.
there are a lot of people who enjoy the alta experience who are in no way connected with the underbelly employees who keep the place running. these are the same town employees who think their's is the "only" alta experience...and everyone else are clearly "outsiders". there are some lift employees who greet you with a big smile, and are genuinely welcoming....almost all female, by the way. it's a refreshing alternative to the douchey, hungover, angry 30-something punk who growls at you when you load the chair.

so really, i apologize for the antagonistic sympathy posts for jon to seek help. i was being an asshole. for a moment i thought about his life, and i tried to have some empathy, maybe to rationalize his behavior, i don't know. but really i just wanted to add yet another layer to the meat cake, in all it's ridiculousness. the added benefit of my post, is that i will no longer get requests to cuddle.

i don't have any idea what the deal is with jon, i don't know anything about the guy other than what he posted. but the language he used with me was truly depraved. his big mission was to be so off the chain, that i would cry and go away, as he stated over and over and over. big fucking deal. it was easy to bait him, and watch it unfold. how could i resist that? after all, he did tell me to shove a sand papered dildo in my vagina multiple times. probably shouldn't say that to a feminist, because i'll just get out my bullhorn and picket your front fucking yard. of course the posts here were hilarious, of course jon was getting what he asked for, but it's still bullying, and i just don't have the stomach for it. must be my fragile sensibilities.

so sorry again, if my antagonistic empathy post was like a bucket of water on this thread. just know that that's what if feels like to have your ski day bliss interrupted by some jackass. it sucks. and it happens ALL THE TIME in the LCC. i can barely load a chair alone on a slow spring day without some moron speed skiing up behind me and landing his ass practically under me on the chair, saying "gotcha!!" and then bend my ear for 10 minutes like we're speed dating.

i've arranged my life so i can ski, i pay for my own pass, my own gas, my own gear, and i want to go up for a few hours a day to give myself a break from my work, get some recreation and fresh air. clear my mind. the last thing i want is to have to do, is shake off every aggressive creepy asshole who thinks just because i'm skiing alone, i'm a target. it's unsettling, it interrupts my peace of mind, and instead of enjoying my two hours of peace, there are times i literally want to push the next guy who creeps on my space off the chair. it sucks. it's an energy drain, and it makes touring alone seem much more appealing. these are also the same tools that ski too close to you showing off, they want you to see them SO bad they will practically ski over your skis and completely fuck your line. it's obnoxious and it's dangerous. the creep factor is huge in the lcc, not so much at the other utah resorts.

so if you see me skiing by myself, leave me the fuck alone. i'll let you know if i feel like talking or skiing.
