Question Where do you take special trips?

I know sdome folks who go to CA to heli-ski each year. Many of my buddies hit Jackson yearly. I go to Aspen Hignlands for opening day.

Aside from where you live, where do you travel to ski, when, & why?

I have my collection jar to go to Cham. It usually takes me two to three years to scrounge enough to do it right, but boy is it worth it. I do quick trips here and there in the US, but I really like the European ski experience. I think I like it because of the way that the infuse it into life there. I dunno. It's just different.

Usually curled up under my bed with my teddy. At least until the laser explosions stop.

Then I seek out the backwater dinkers where the dollar goes farther, the people may be slower, but they're (edit) friendlier and there's some hot springs nearby. Moontania is a good spot as is B.C. Small sampler road trips, follow the storms.

BC interior. Try to hit a different resort every year.

Though after this year's trip to Kicking horse and Lake Louise it will be hard not to go back!

Used to be La Grave/Briancon/Milky Way/Trois Vallees.
Then it was the Kootenays or Monashees.
    Now it's Silverton.

    The future lies open.

Jackson cuz its home, Whistler cuz it is cheap and close...as for trips that I plan on making and haven't- Interior BC for sure, AK, Wolf Creek, and hut touring the Wallowa mts in OR- that one is the closest to happening. It is inexpensive and really really amazing touring. Again, just too broke and couldn't fit it into my schedule...

Two special trips a year. I always go to St. Anton for two weeks with the wife and kids. The second trip is a stress relief gift from the wife. My brother inlaw and I get a week anywhere we can swing. Jackson, LCC are the usuals.

Always try to get a couple good trips in a year. Unfortunetly usually travelling by car. Usually do a winter break trip with my CU ski crew. Have done Telluride, Tahoe and utah this year. Then usually get one more good trip in there. Try to explore and get to places I have never been. Still looking for an opportunity to do montana and interior BC maybe next season

A special trip for me is one I don't have to plan. Deciding "Huh, I' think I'll go to jackson this weekend," is what I love.
A big alaska trip is being dreamed up at the moment. I think South america would be totally cool too.

I take trips where the people don't know me, I take trips where I don't know the land,

I take trips where the people don't know me, I take trips where simple folk give me a hand,

I take trips where the lakes are wide, and nor-easters can blow over head, I take trips where the people don't know me, I take trips where the ground is my bed,

I take trips where the mountains rise up, where the streams speak in voices growing fuller and deeper, I take trips where the people don't know me, I take trips where terrain is much steeper,

I take trips where things aren't quite clean, I take trips where people aren't seen, I take trips to the mountains and such, I take trips where the people don't know me, I take trips because I want to learn so much

I take trips to places discovered, to find the stone that is left uncovered, I take trips to places unseen, to bring to my eyesight a fresh clear blue sheen.

I take trips where people don't know me, I take trips with friends who aren't mine, I take trips where people don't know me, I take trips because I don't have much time.
