new skins fitted after a tune - pre-AK

Thanks in advance for having a look. Heading to Alaska and had my skis tuned...long and the short is that I forgot, before the tune, that I needed to cut a new pair of skins for these particular skis. Does the skin glue wreck the hand wax I had put on? I couldn't help but think the skis were on the dry side after I was done with the skin task. It's a one time trip so want those skis to be perfect and shit.

Skin glue will probably pull some of the wax out of / off the base when you remove them. If you're concerned, just re-wax them. Next time though, I'd probably wax after cutting skins.

But you're going to AK. You're going to have a blast no matter what.

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

Yes, you should always wax the skis after putting skins on. You should by one of these propane powered waxing irons and do a proper hot wax on every summit.

Maybe a little, no more than when you'll actually use them though right?

I'll probably just say fuck it, but had the thought. I didn't want the razor near my edges either....hahahaha. Kid in a candy store, kid with new shoes, you get the idea...
