    Lower back herniated disc?

Back has been fucked up slightly since fronting into a bomb hole in east vail about 5 years ago. Been manageable, but always felt tight with occasional sciatic pain on the right side. Did alot of cutting with a chainsaw 2 weeks ago and it went to shit. Also just got back into mountain biking last month and have been hitting some rough trails.

Been hobbling around most of the time at work. Got a steroid injection from the ortho. Hasn't done anything. MRI last week, and will know the results tomorrow. Pain is driving me fucking insane. NSAIDs do nothing for me anymore after years of use for other injuries.

I can't really take time off of work, and with spring fast approaching I have lots of construction stuff coming up. Your success or failure with surgery (if doctor recommends it tomorrow?).

Oddly, riding my bike is the only time it doesn't hurt. Not just around town, but on super technical/rocky single track. Like many of us, I can't just sit around when the sun is out and I am not at work. Think I am doing more damage bashing rocks on my bike?

For herniated discs, repetitive forward bending = very bad. biking, chainsaw lifting improperly=bad for you right now. Go get an Rx. for rehab and find a reputable therapist who know whet they are doing.
