I have the flu - who has a remedy?

I'm eating chicken soup, drinking tons of lemon ginger tea and Gatorade (seems to work best to keep me hydrated, water just doesn't taste very good) and taking something called Flu-Ban (a homeopathic thing) and still feel like absolute crap.

Anyone have a sure-fire cure? I have way too much work this week to be stuck in bed and right now I haven't the energy to do anything but watch reruns.

    1. I second the Emergen-C, it has lots of readily absorbable Vit-C and will boost your immune system.
    2. Echinacea(sp?) & Goldenseal Root herbal tincture. The Echinacea will also help build the immune system and the Goldenseal Root will flush toxins. The Goldenseal is nasty shit though, tastes horrible.
    3. Oscillococcinum- Great homeopathic flu remedy that always works for me.
    4. Lots of Fluids.

    BTW- like that avatar.

For future reference, I am getting some relief from Olbas Pastilles.

Nyquil. Lots and lots and lots of Nyquil. The green liquid stuff, none of that Dayquil crap or caplets.

    Stoy ain't too far off.

Power your way through some bourbon. Forget all that homeopathic bullshit. Just like at the hospital the best way to kill germs and viruses is with alcohol. Get your BAC up and call it good. Warning, you will feel like shit for one more day.

just getting over the flu myself. drinking tons of water helped to clear out some of the congestion that was at least partially responsible for the headaches. really, time and patience were the most important aspects of my recovery. sorry.

Yeah, if you could get your BAC up to .914, like that guy from Bulgaria, it might actually work. Of course you would prolly kill yourself in the process.
Still can't believe that .914 BAC! Almost 1% of your blood is alcohol. Unbelievable.

Too late now, but if it is something you suffer from every year, maybe consider getting vaccinated next year. I haven't done so myself, but don't usually get the flu....I have heard that the vaccine is pretty effective though.
