    Crystal closed until further notice

Crystal finally developed a conscience about charging 30 bucks to upload and ski slop. "Closed until Further notice...Pray for snow". Um thanks, I will be praying from Interior BC and/or Alberta. NOW who wants to come with us??????

This picture was taken just three days ago:

Yep I got bit by a mosquito outside my house on Friday afternoon. Even if it doesn't snow any more please let it get cold enough to kill off those little fuckers - I hate mosquitos

ummm, sooooo.....will Crystal be refunding or pro-rating any of them one-thousand-dollar-plus passes?

Also found out that you have to be a FULL-TIME shop rat to get a discount on your pass at Xtal. Is this normal for around here?!?!?!? Because there's like 2 full-time shop rats in every shop, the owner and the manager...

In Bozeman, shop rats, full-time, part-time, no-time, whatever, got a substantial discount on passes for Bridger and Big Sky, that worked out to being roughly half the price of the full passes.

EDIT - btw - does anybody "hear" the Sage Cattabriga voice as Phishshow's, every time he posts? Must be the dirty dishwasher mountain employee thing.

Jumper and I talked on the phone last night, and we decided to open a hot dog stand on the corner of 2nd & Pike... to help pay off my F*cking Corporate Pass, and to buy Jumper a new pair of Mid Fats.

I have hope BC... not much, but I do.

Interesing article - Baker one got 1140 inches of snow in one season, that's insane.

How are the mountains in OR doing, as poorly as WA? Mount Hood Meadows, Timberline, etc.?

No way this could happen two years in a row, eh? (I'm nervous given my impending relocation.) Anyway, I feel for you guys… road trip down to CA, we have heaps of snow.

I've been emailing a few of the weather guys at KOMO. They're pretty cool and respond in the same day! All perplexed by the shitty fucking season we are having, too. Keep asking them to run the 16 day models.

As for La Nina- they are saying that....
05'-'06 likely a neutral year (meaning we should get a little bit better than average snowfall so Baker should be around 700" and we should be at 475"-500" at the Passes
'06-'07 La Nina enters and stays for 2-3 years (meaning much more than average snowfall)
But of course, this is all in theory

Do their 16 day models agree with my 16 day model which says dry and warm with a 0% chance of rebuilding a base?

Through about February 6, unfortunately yes.

This taken off an email just received from a friend in Nelson/WH20:
"Places are open, but it's warm. Some colder temps and snow for the weekend, I'll email you when it starts snowing"

This season sounds ominously a lot like the so-called 1976 year we've all heard about. FUCK.

Funken, I think I have worked a deal to get Monday off work- I'll let ya know.
