    a good read from Ptor

Just a head's up....Here's a good read by one of my favorite ski bum/writer doods, Ptor Spriceniek over on www.biglines.com. Pondering the ski bum life in light of political and national affiliations. The formatting of the article kinda stinks but it's worth the read.

"But am I addicted to telepheriques? I see the mountains as the highest authorities, the ultimate mileposts to gauge one's personal evolution and interior balance. They are the dominant species on earth, not humans. I know the path."

How the Hell do you pronounce Ptor, anyway? P-tor (as in Petor)? Or, do you kinda roll it all together such that it sounds like "Pit-tor"?

A great read. I guess that is the full account that Powder got and that they edited it down to fit in the mag. Shame they had to do that. That's just my assumption though.

Funny thing about Ptor's writing: I find a lot of it sounds really pretentious. But then I read a few paragraphs about somewhere I know (eg LG) and realise that he is totally spot-on. He actually couldn't be any closer to the truth (unless he moves to Chicago ). So it makes me think that the other stuff (that I find pretentious) might actually be really sound thought too and that I am way off the mark with how I see stuff. Just rambling thoughts (it's late here). I need to read it again, I think.
