Maddy's definitely hotter than Victoria. The royal jewels (ha!) up close are absolutely amazing.
Can we get a picture of Carl as well? *drool*

Calmer than you dude
All I know about Sweden is:
1.I have a couple friends living there
2.Beer costs a lot
3.They have a lot of “Beer relays”
4.Budweiser is the expensive foreign beer
5.everyone drinks a lot of coffee
6.it’s very hard to buy pumpkins
7.Their Universities are meant to be really good.
8. I’m going there in May, so May in Sweden must rock
As for skiing… well, it’s close to Norway, and Lillehammer had the winter Olympics… so, there must be some type of skiing somewhere. But my arctic ecology prof. said Scandinavia is pretty flat in general.
Opinion of a guy who lived next door in Norway for a year:
Sweden is flat, except for the north where Are and Riksgransen are. If you see mountains, you probably traveled west into Norway.
The Swedes are probably the most reserved people on the planet.
Skiing in Scandinavia is not about the extremo mountain dude culture. But ski touring is huge.
What we'd consider BC here is tracked out by ski tourists.
Depending on where you are in Sweden, Norway isn't too hard to get to. Pretty much year round skiing there in some parts.
Amsterdam is not easy to get to unless you fly.
You will never see a higher percentage of hot chicks outside the Playboy Mansion.
And Hard Labor in Sweden means YOU have to assemble the IKEA furniture for everyone else.
Just don't go during Christmastime. I'd never live it down if you found out what my last name means.

I'd like to help you out, but I'm a little confused: is it about what she wants, or what you want to do? That is, do you enjoy spending time with her and skiing chutes in the U.S. in springtime?
If you could finally make some of that clear, you might get helpful responses.

oh, and cletus. you should go by reasoning that I want to go, but can't, and therefore you should. besides, even if you do work all the time and you travel back there for fun later, you will have had a personal primer on the whole country in advance. and gees man, dont let your woman get you down![]()
Spent a summer in scandy. Girls are sooooooo hot. Girls are soooooooo easy. Living is sooooooooo expensive. Beer, mostly Ringness for me, is outrageously priced. So is any meat that is not fish.
Girls are tall. Sure the girls are hot, but the guys are chiseled too, so it's not like the typical fat american competition for attention.
Room is spinning. Irish bar kinda kikcin my ass right now.
I fackin' love women. Can't believe I came home alone tonight. Need to got to sweehen soon. I love tall, blonde girls with scandyn accents. Ja.
I hate pickeled herring. Swedish food sucks ass. Whoever said it was good is freakin lying. Does yogurt, stinky fish and goat cheese every goddamn damn soound good to anyong? Still, I would permanently moove to Scandy in heartbeat. I love the political and intellectual culture. I also love tall, blonde women.

I dunno.but if steep skiing is your primary motivation my guess is sweden is not the oppurtunity your looking for
Yeah, the Swedes will say it doesn't compare to the Alps. That's right - not that much vert maybe...and there ain't that many lifts (and crowds) either. It's also quite cold in wintertime.
But you have to remember Swedes are social animals and they tend to wander in packs. If someone cool (or "cool") goes to Chamonix...well, you get the picture. (and no offense here)
The Finns and Norwegians on the other hands are pretty much the opposite in character. Ok, I know this is a harsh generalization (but holds true as describing the Scandinavian culture differences just on a very surface level...)
So, my wild guess (and partly knowledge) is that not that many Swedes have actually explored their own northern areas too much. (I know there are LOTS of people that have...but this is also a generalization. Anyway, among young Swedes THE thing to do is spend a season in the Alps...not to hike & camp somewhere in their own backwoods...)
Sure, the vertical is lower and there's maybe a bit less snow. But also, the season is looooong. And you're pretty much alone there if you go outside from the resorts. Norway is just behind border too.
I'm not giving any more detailed info. Buy a topographical map and go searching...
That's about skiing...the other good parts of Sweden have been discussed here quite thoroughly(sp?) already...
Here's an example of what I'm talking about:

After reviewing those pictures, it's been decided that Yoss will be sending me to Sweden to gather some intel on his behalf.
