So I got the 'soul pack' or whatever it's called after ONS was thoughtful enough to discount everything for us. I had my choice of the six DVD's to test drive last night and 'Harvest' caught my eye.
Excellent flick. For everyone who is complaining about the amount of jibbing in ski films, this is perfect. The first half of the movie was all pow segments, the second were big Alaskan lines. There was even tons of good snowboarding mixed in for the developmentally challenged. Ha, that should get some responses.
This was produced right as the shaped ski revolution was taking place so some of the lines aren't as big and fast as they are now but I enjoyed watching some of the guys ski pow on skinny sticks. I may have to break out the 205's this season for a day or two. Don't get me wrong though, this isn't some cheesy 80's WM film w/ chopped hop turns in open bowls of powder. The skiing is still amazing and you get a good look at many of the top skiers in the current films.
Anyway, I'm not as caught up on ski porn as I should be but I figured I'd at least spread the word that there are some excellent ski films available on this website that show chest deep pow instead of terrain parks.
Getting ski porn in six packs is so cool, now I have to decide between The Realm, Uprising, or The Continum for my next film. Ah, decisions.
