Here's the deal. I got myself a pair of Atomic Stomps a while back and Atomic bindings to accompany the skis. For those that don't know, they are pretty damn fat(as in wide) skis....the bindings I got are made for your normal parabolic ski. I got an offer that I could not refuse on the ski/binding package and the dude at the shop said that I could bend the breaks on the bindings out to accomodate the fatness of the ski.
My question is, has anyone done this and what are the implications of doing so? How would I go about doing this? Can I buy wider breaks for the bindings?
I posed this question to my local Atomic dealer and the dude laughed telling me that somone was going to get killed when I took a digger and the skis went flying down the hill cuz the breaks won't work. I should have told him that if he didn't help me, when the above scenario did occur, that I would tell the authorities that he was the one who rigged it up!
Any help appreciated, I don't want to have to buy new bindings...
Thanks,
Theo
