    WWMD? Moab vs. Current Location??

I have the opportunity to make a comfortable and affordable move to Moab in the very near future.

Current Location: 37 mile drive to work through an often hairy Logan Canyon.
Incredible views out my window of Bear Lake.
    Perfect summer temps.
Live within spitting distance of killer BC terrain.
Own 2.3 acres of sick land with sicker views of lake-mtns.
No winter rock climbing near by.
Lots of bolted sport climbing, but no trad climbing.
Very close to the incredible summer climbing of the Tetons.
Close to the climbing of the Wind Rivers.
Work in a great hospital ER. Good pay and bennies.
    Nobody drinks good coffee.

Moab: Live within walking distance of employment (hospital).
Hot summers-but I could come to my place up here anytime to escape.
    Killer climbing year around.
Killer skiing in the La Sals (12,000+ foot peaks).
Own one vehicle for simplicity-and only use it occasionally.
Live in a community of skiers-climbers (plenty of folks to rally with).
Rivers, slot canyons, splitter crack climbing, desert towers everwhere.
Close to the mighty San Juans. Oooh la, la.
Still close to the Wasatch if the snowpack is low in the La Sals.
New hospital will be built in two years. Nice, mellow little ER.
    People drink good coffee.

I/we think we are headed to Moab in late March or early April. Just in time for the hot summer to start up.

    WWMD?

    Here?

C'mon, everyone knows you can't windsurf on Bear Lake...the icebergs get the in way...

(D - I have a bunch of friends who live in Moab, if you want to talk to anyone about what life is like there on a day-in, day-out basis...)

From you post, sounds like Moab is the spot. Are you buying or have bought a place in Moab?

So you'd be able to hold on to your current spot, rather than selling that to go to Moab? Seems like it would definitely be worth taking a shot at it, not much lost if it doesn't work out, live up to expectations, etc.

Would you own and keep both places? If so, I think your decision is already made. Best of both worlds.

On the coffee note, can you bring in your personal maker with some great beans? That is what I did. Folgers just can't and won't be done.

If you move though, wont you go into deep depression by not hanging with the snowblower 3-4 times a day?

Yeah, I can keep my place up here and build on my land when the opportunity comes about.

Rent a place in Moab for a bit, then buy a house.

It will be nice to be able to climb in the winter when the skiing is sub par like it is right now. Plus, if it's epic up here, I can rally up and stay for a while to sample the goods.

Buzz, I brought my own beans and coffee pot into work here. They didn't even have on! How can they make it through the day without a little black gold?

We have one in the break room ALWAYS brewing more Folgers. Yack. But with the amount of LDSers there, the coffee still really goes.

I got the good stuff in my office and when I brew it, there are a few other coffee snobs that come a runnin. What is cool, it one of em bought another bad of gold to contibute!! Got our own little click. Hehe.
