Good reporting, Red.
Good reporting, Red.
Good story. Interesting about them going into the backcountry primarily because they saw so many others doing it. I'm sure many people make that mistake.
Good to hear the real story. RIP
Thanks for putting that up 2Planker
What you have done, RB, is point out that these things happen for a reason (often a lack of proper reasoning) and that adhering to certain guidelines and behavior can mitigate risk, while other actions, or lack thereof, can make things worse. It's important that message get out, so people realize there is a formula for prevention and survival and no necessity to fence off the big bad mountains.

And thanks to twoplanker for putting the story up for the rest of us.
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Good story.

Sweet report. Definitely some interesting decision making on that day, hard to live with if you make it out and others don't.
