Glassing Associate

Channel Islands is looking for a Glassing Associate to laminate, hotcoat, sand and fin set surfboards to spec. The shift for this position is 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
• Use of power tools sanding and polishing polyester resin surfboards including but not limited to drill and disk sander.
• Use of measuring devices including but not limited to T-squares, squares, tapes, calipers, and rulers.
• Measure finished surfboard for accuracy and reference work order/spec card.
• Working with fiberglass and polyester resin either laminating or hotcoating surfboards.
• Installing fin plugs per according to spec.
• Reporting raw material irregularities to Finishing Lead.
• Maintain eye for detail and high finish standards.
• Maintain Glassing cell hardware and tools as necessary. Keeping glassing room clean and in safe working order.
• Adhere to quality system processes.
• Acknowledge that his/her work affects the quality level of the final product.
• Observe company IP rights.

Key Performance Indicators
• Number of boards completed per day.
• Level of finish work on boards.
• Meeting indicated specifications.

Education and/or Experience:
• High School or equivalent.
• At least 1-3 years glassing experience
