My daughter, right before turning [emoji640], graduated from edgy wedgy and skiing on her own. She still needs help getting on the lift but she wants to get off by herself.
My son is learning snowboarding and he’s making progress. I can’t wait until we lap blue and green runs together!

Daughter's first Qualifier race as a U14 this weekend at Mt Spokane. She didn't have a good first run in GS but bounced back and finished 55 out of 98 girls. Did much better in Slalom finishing 33rd. Proud of her performance in a tough field and smiles all around ripping some smooth groomers in the really chilly sun after so overall can't complain.

Logan was in Telluride last weekend for 2 comps. Finished 4th in his 2* regional and then competed in his first 3* national event. Qualified 7th and finished 9th! Super proud of his skiing!

Successful weekend for my U16 and U14. U16 continues to improve, in Sun Valley had a second fastest SL run and a second fastest GS run. Finished 3rd in GS…skied out in SL. Continues to get faster in her return from ACL…consistency will come with time in gates. U14 swept all 4 runs of super G in tamarack. Skied really well. She's really raised the bar for her teammates as well, they're skiing as group has really excelled. Proud of her work ethic and leadership. wish I could figure out pictures!</div>

Girls skiing fast indeed. This past weekend my daughter did her first U14 SuperG and did pretty well coming in 25 out of 90 in her best run. Your daughter must be outstanding for sweeping the event! Seeing these twelve and thirteen year old girls fly down a course at fifty plus mph was both nerve wracking and inspiring as a parent. We watched from a knoll that was just below the one jump on the course and of course the first thing we see is a girl getting loaded onto a sled crying in pain. Some of the parents could not hack watching from there for too long. Some of the girls have absolutely amazing cat like athleticism pulling off crazy recoveries from sure disaster. We saw this one girl absolutely get crushed on landing the jump and yard sale like 200 feet. She was crying and we thought she was going to the hospital for sure but she picked herself up and ended up laying down an absolute barn burner of a second run and came in second. That crash would have crippled any of the adults that were watching and she shook it off and kicked ass. I could not have thought of a better way to celebrate International Womens day than watch these preteen girls exhibit more strength and courage than most any adult could muster.

For what it's worth, my mother watched exactly one super-G and that was more than enough for her.
My four-year-old is now fully capable of skiing most of Sunday River's green circle terrain, while the three-year-old is a little less confident (he wants to hold my hand some of the time, which is a challenging way to ski) but still pretty capable. The crazy thing to me is that on flat terrain, he will actually flex at the ankle and engage the front of the ski; I'm not quite sure how he figured out how to ski that dynamically, but I'm sure interested to see where he takes it.
