    WTB: Nikon DX Lens

Just got a D200 and don't have any Nikon lenses for it. Anybody willing to let anything go for cheap-ish? Ideal would be an 18-200 f/3.5-5.6 but that's not gonna be cheap. Wider is better. Figured it was worth a shot.

Check out the 16-85, it's the all-around DX lens I'd buy. 24 equiv. instead of 28 is pretty nice, and apparently it's a great performer. Landscape photogs love it. I'm kind of thinking of one to put on my D300 so I have a smaller option than my D3 + FX lenses.

The 16-85 rarely leaves my camera, it's a really nice lens. I had an 18-35 f3.5/4.5 D for a long time and always found myself wishing I could go just a little wider. The difference between 16 and 18 is pretty significant (surprisingly) and having the reach out to 85 is nice too. The 16-85 focuses quickly, is well built (definitely a step up from kit lenses), and is pretty darned sharp though obviously not in the league of a prime or fixed aperture. The only downsides to this lens are some vignetting at 16-18mm and large apertures (gone by f6.3) and some fairly significant distortion. Most of the time these things aren't very noticeable. Seems sharpest from f8 - f16.

Watch for it on Ebay and you can probably get a good deal on one.

Too bad you didn't post this last week, I just sold that 18-35 for $200. It was a good lens and I used it for a long time before getting the 16-85.

18-55 for $85 + ship? Otherwise it's going back to Adorama.

Or, you might convince me to sell the 18-105. On the fence about selling that one. I forgot how much I paid for it - how about $230+ship?

I'm really liking the sound of that 16-85...sounds like the perfect do-it-all lens for me to cover occasional landscapes and the high speed race shooting and skiing stuff I wanna do with the D200.

54-46, I'm gonna pass at the moment I think. Thanks for the offer, though.

I have an 18-200 I will part with. Let me check what they are going for.
It is in excellent shape. I just don't use it that much anymore.
