Stopped by PHQ today on the Dark side.

Word is HW will remain open til the end and the HW lift will remain operational and running. Lots of traffic from the top of 3rd fork to the Gum Wall. The skiing looked damn fine.

Yeah it was really nice again today on the north side. Had a great time skiing with visiting mag Dexter Rutecki. He's currently locked out of his account but here he is shredding chalk. Dude was totally psyched on his first Big Sky visit and wants to come back.

Tried to pm you but your box is full. Sorry but I forgot to drop that stuff off at the go-between when I left today. I carried it in my pack all day yesterday though. [emoji38] I'll be back next week if you still want it.

I am heading down to southern idaho to pick up a puppy but was probably going to stop a little west of west yellowstone to split up the drive. Anyone got any good campsites by water for a truck camper? Not looking for any skiing or deep snow just looking to hang out with the family for a few hours.

Ill take a look, looks like some BLM near henry lake that is promising.

But... looking at a snow depth map looks like it is under 3 feet of snow.

Def looks like the Island Park area is still under quite a bit of snow:

Somewhere off the caldera over by Ashton?

FYI Big Sky is melting fast as fuck. North facing still rock hard. Everything else crazy sticky even with spring wax.

Yesterday was OK, but by 1:30 it was sticky or still frozen.

Bring on the normal wet April

Super nice day to spin the gravel bike. Great quiet roads right from the house now.

Last day of the season at Great Divide and pond skim day. Thinking of digging out my old pontoon skis for maximum water flotation. I never liked how they skied but they might be just the ticket to avoid sinking and/or drowning. It will also be a trick to find a skiable line from the top of the mountain without hitting major obstacles. Should be fun.

Yeah, let's hope it doesn't fizzle. Wednesday/Thursday will likely be the last hurrah for me because my daughter has three track meets next week.

Got buddy tickets to spare if anybody wants 'em.

Yeah Weds/Thurs look to be good. I'll try to track you down Yeahman if I make it up. Surgery on Friday so it should certainly dump for the last two weeks of April.
