    Florence and the Machine

Holy crap, this chick has got a voice and the Machine is pretty awesome too. Definitely pop music but good tunes.
    A little taste..
Video is a bit weird, but the music is good.

She's super solid. "Binding" is a bitchin' song.

Got into a bunch of "girly" music hanging out with the last girlfriend. If you like Florence you should try Lykki Li, Feist, The Kills, and Cat Power... all amazing female vocalists.

I will add Portishead, and Goldfrapp to your list. Florence and the Machine reminds me of Siouxsie and the Banshees. Good stuff

Lungs is a fantastic album. Snagged it with the iTunes gift card that I got for Christmas.
    No kick turns
    No mercy

No doubt...three of my favorites from back in the day. Saw Siouxie on the first or second Lollapaloza, "Killing Jar", "Dear Prudence"... unreal.

I love Florence + The Machine.

I really like some of Portishead's music, some of it is just OK.

I've been listening to Ceremonials lately - as I didn't know about Lungs - but I'll check it out via Spotify now: thanks! A good one from Ceremonials:

She's got some serious pipes, no doubt.
I'd echo the Portishead and Lykke Li recs. Portishead came through town a few months ago: every bit as good as they were ten years ago.
Also have enjoyed some of Thao Nguyen's stuff. Different genre perhaps, but good.
