    Jacket

I'm probably getting a bit too old for slidding down grass and rocks on my @rse but I was only trying to get across to a powder stash, which turned out to be crusty crap .
My Arcteryx Alpha SV jacket http://www.arcteryx.com/product.aspx...ells&prod=2893 suffered a bit of wear & so spent last night fixing a goretex patch. It has served me well over the last 4 years and held up to a fair few bumps and falls. It was only a small tear, but lets face it none of us are getting any younger so I was thinking what should I replace it with?

Need a robust jacket with powder skirt (which the Alpha SV doesn't have) pit stop vents, high breathability but waterproof, for as little money as possible. Recco Reflector and ski pass holder would be nice to have.

Looking at trying to pick up a good deal on one of the following -

    Arcteryx Sidewinder

    Mammut Eiger XCR Jacket

    Patagonia M's Six Chuter Jacket
    http://www.patagonia.com/za/PDC?OPTI..._cat_id=500178

any comments? any others to consider? any links to factory outlet shops closeout sales etc?

I've had a Sidewinder SV for 4 years now and I'd never trade it for another coat.

    I'll take the low road!

Well, I saw for "as little money as possible"...Take a look at the LL Bean jackets(they used to be made by MontBell). Used to see good reviews about them in some forums for bang for the buck. Cabela's is another low-cost option. Call customer service to get more details about construction, materials, etc. Sierra Trading Post always has some deals(limited sizes), Campmor, etc. Need a cheap 3-ply Gore-tex in fashionable/ patriotic camo? I bought an army surplus issue jacket from eBay for around $50...
