He built some nice things into the plan like new vehicles every 10 years and a 100k reno on the house.

I think it's very do-able, and I'm excited as hell.
    congrats !

trying to do it in 2019 myself, but will probably be 2020.

may just sit next to my daily commute for a while and marvel that I'm not in it anymore, but then am wanting to follow Ara and Spirit's lead and do my own 'oasis of my soul' over the northeast.

Cool. 60K/year is plenty if you're house is paid off and RE taxes are reasonable. Best o' luck to you and the Mrs.

20K MREs, 5K cans of dog food, 50K .223 rounds for AR15s, 3 month supply of potassium iodide, Couple bottles of Tamiflu, couple cases of powdered bleach and you're probably good. Oh wait, that's for the doomsday gun nut thread..

Well, it's closer to US$47,000, which is plenty for a couple who live the simple life and have a paid off house.

FTR I've met Gary and was aware he's a Canuckistanian. He and I share a very similar haircut.

Retire in Kitwanga/Cedarvale and 60k would probably last you 3 good years. 2 good years in Stewart. Don't need a car or sled. Bike/walk around town and hitch hike free helidrops for skiing if yer a skidbiter.
