Arva EVO3+ avy beacon - anyone know anything about this?

Got an offer of a good deal on these through the Vancouver chapter of the Alpine Club of Canada - never heard of it, tried a search here and got no results. Anyone have any experience with these?- I'm new to this, was thinking that I would get a BCA tracker 2. This also claims "ease of use" but I imagine most manufacturers would say that does anyone know if this is as straightforward to use as the BCA?

arva is a french company, and has been making beacons forever. i believe MEC imports them into canada, but there is finally a new US distributor after about 5 years not being imported to the US.

super nice stuff, i use the link beacon, personally, and very pleased with it. very nice and intuitive.

really all beacons that are now offered, compared to an old ortovox f1 or whatever are "easy to use". if you don't regularly practice with a beacon, then no beacon is TRULY easy to use, just FWIW.

the arva is a 3 antenna beacon with 40m range, digital processor, and multi victim data. it compares pretty directly with the BCA tracker 2, but is about $70 cheaper at retail.

the old yellow arva was my first digi beacon worked great. Played with this new one at a swap for a while. I myself liked it much better than the tracker, prob cause it is still pretty similiar to the old arva i used for seasons.

Like Marshall I just got the Arva Link and am super pleased with the features and how easy it is to use.

I believe the EVO 3+ is just a simplified version, but it still has 3 antennae, will show you multiple burials and has a marking feature.

The Axis is the simplified version of the Link.

By contrast, the Evo3+ is a simplified version of the discontinued 3 Axes:

Kind of like a BCA T2, but with a simple masking feature for the first found beacon, and priced way less than the competition (except for the new lower price on the Ortovox Patroller Digital):
