So I finally did the much overdue task of changing out my worn out SPD cleats. The new cleats came with a metal plate to go over the threads... never used this before, is it necessary? figure it gives more float? Also will I spontaneously eject from the multi release cleats. I think I must have been using the single release or whatever the other model is as when I put these a "big" bunny hop in my driveway will cause release and they are cranked.
