I prolly could, but this lets me cut out the background, and scan just the receipt info I need. Works like a real scanner.
An awesome app for the boat is the Navionics app. I have it on my droid. Shows me buoys, channels, depth, etc. works like a mini Garmin. Nice little backup just in case.

Update release today for My Story. The app now allows you to share your stories with iBooks, Nook, Kindle and other e-readers. More details here - http://mystoryapp.tumblr.com/post/14...pub-format-via
Machinarium. Great puzzle/adventure game that uses the iPad interface really well and has mind-blowingly cool graphics.

I've been loading up our iPad with "board games" for an upcoming long road trip with the kids. Monopoly, Risk and Life are all very good. My favorite though is Ticket to Ride.
Apparently Words With Friends also comes highly recommended, especially for air travel.
30 posts and not a single mention of flipboard? if you have an ipad (or iphone) and read, get it, period.
TowerMadness HD is my favorite iPad/iPod game ever. Countless hours on the shitter have been dedicated to this game.
Yo desk jockeys, what's a good app to view PPT slides, preferably one that doesn't involve uploading them to a third party server (a la SlideShark)? I stare at that shit endlessly but the built-in viewer jacks up the formatting most of the time. Would be nice to not have to lug my laptop to every meeting...
and you thought this was a joke,
"Computer keyboards, iPhones, iPads and most of our favorite high-tech gadgets have more of the bacteria found in human feces than the toilet seats in the dirtiest of gas station bathrooms.
Gross, right?
A new infographic by Keeping It Kleen, a public awareness campaign that educates consumers, government entities, schools and other groups on food safety and hygiene, shows that 16 percent of all cellphones -- including trendy iPhones -- are smeared with E. coli, the bacteria found in human feces.
iPods, iPads, laptops, other tablets, basically any device you handle, is not immune from contamination.
The germs found on keyboards are 150 times over the acceptable limit for bacteria levels.
In fact, remote controls found in hotel rooms, hospitals and even your living room are the filthiest of all devices.
These finding are especially important as we approach the holiday season and start to test out high-tech equipment at our local electronics stores before buying them.
But don't despair, there are ways to wipe away the obscene levels of human feces and other disgusting germs found on your devices.
Gadget geeks can purchase pricey ultraviolet light cleaners, but here are some thrifty suggestions for clean, healthy gadgets:
Clorox wipes
Rubbing alcohol with soft tissue
Microfiber electronic cleaning cloth
Household sanitizing wipes
High-tech cleaning compounds"

iMovie is pretty radical. You can upload all your clips, edit with effects, add tunes, and publish to Youtube, Vimeo, iTunes, or some other places. I use it to edit all my GoPro footage (which I don't post here since mundane POV is not welcome). I bought the Apple Camera Kit that lets you take your SD card out of the GoPro and plug it in to your iPad. Pretty easy stuff.
Just got one of these newfangled contraptions. any more "new" apps y'all like? Especially music related, like car DSP signal processors, lossless wav/flac converters, passive equalizers, etc?
Other cool-ass must haves or silly shit?
Other free kids games etc?
