Yeah, I need to master this one first - it is for concentrates and oils. Some day I'll probably get a pen for combustibles because there are some strains I'd be interested in trying that don't come in concentrates but again, that is down the road.

I have def. fallen down the new cannabis paradigm rabbit hole but that's the kind of thing that floats my boat - research! Leafly.com has been a great resource. There is much to know.

BTW - Sour Tsunami is a high CBD strain. I'm still skirting the edge of the actually getting high.

    *****************************************

Speaking of concentrates vs. flower I've read that with flower you consume the plant matter and everything on it - good bad and ugly (i.e. pesticides/herbicides etc) but many of the concentrates are processed with multiple chemicals, some we don't even know about (i.e. distillates) and they can also have additives like glycerin. I've not decided which is worse - thought?

You can buy Rosin which is made with a heat press type thing. CO2 extractions are also a non chemical alternative.

    I like Live Resin.

Oh, KQ.....you should go to Vegas for MJ BizCon. You'd be a kid in a candy store. I know I was.

Trimmed out some cannatonic last night. Sooo sweet and gooey.
This is for smoke and the trims for my new batch of erl going into the pain cream.
    Cannatonic is almost 50/50.

Heading out to Vegas for a conf next week. Looking for any recommendations on local dispensaries as I’m sure there are good ones, tourist traps and trash.

The oil I got is CO2. According to articles I've read, most Live Resin is not solventless. It is a form of BHO extraction though CO2 extraction can be used too. However there is inconsistency across the industry with regard to listing which process was used so you may be getting BHO when you think you're getting CO2.

CANNABIS CONCENTRATES: WHAT IS LIVE RESIN?

From a technical perspective, live resin is still a form of BHO that is produced by exposing buds to butane. Live resin can also be produced via CO2 extraction, though. After extraction, the material is purged of impurities using a vacuum oven that employs lower temperatures for a few hours.

O'tay! LOL! I do love the whole science aspect of the extract industry. That said.... I'm having a hard time dialing in pain relief with this oil. Granted it's only been a day but still I was unable to sleep through the night and woke up with back pain and hip pain/aches that are still nagging at me. With the tinctures I was able to take the recommended dropper full under my tongue and I was golden or in the case of the gummies I would pop one and voila!

I'm not totally sold on vaping as I find it's really not far off from smoking and all the things I hate about smoking. I get an aftertaste, not as bad as smoking a bowl but it still makes me want to brush my teeth. There is a bit of a harshness on my throat and my eyes get dry. Also had the the beginning twinges of a headache. I did get a slight tingling/body relaxation which I chalked up to the THC content.

This particular oil is 45% CBD/15%THC (I rounded up). At first I was cautious and only took a couple hits. When I used to smoke pot I would only do a one hitter and I'd have just what I wanted but this is different. I thought because it was a concentrate it would take less but 6 hits and I'm not achieving the lasting pain relief I do with the tincture/edibles. I'll keep at it for the next couple days or until I can't stand it anymore and go back to my tincture after which I'll write up a full trip report for the CBD thread.

Thoughts on any of the above?

Edit/add: I will say that using a vape is certainly more convenient than a pipe. Once you have a loaded tank you can pick it up and use it then put it away without worrying about spilling or ash and you don't need to find your stash, clean the bowl, have a lighter etc. etc. If you're not going to dab with your vape (in the case of mine you can use concentrates or oils) you might want to have more than one tank so you can switch out or I guess you could buy pre-filled cartridges.

Imgestion is longer acting that's likely why you didn't sleep through night.

Yeah I get that, so is it safe to say in order to get the full benefits (lasting - spread over time) from CBD, ingestion is the way to go and save the vaping for getting high?

Maybe I'll take my tincture before bed and top it off with a couple hits off the vape until this is gone. Probably won't go high CBD oil again. I'll certainly still look for it as a component but not the main focus when it comes to concentrates.

On the otherhand... this oil came in a tanker not a cartridge so I suppose you could ingest it to get the same benefits of the tinctures.

LIve Resin can be made with various solvents, but mainly refers to the live plant being processed (no curing of the flower).
Flash freeze the plants and process.

Rosin is made by squishing buds.
Heated plates on a 10 ton press (or whatever), so solventless for rosin.

How hard is it to grow? As in, can an indoor grow be done half assed or is it not worth it at all in that case?
Like if I dont want to invest 500 bucks+ in a setup for a few plants should i not bother?

    Yeah... dabbing looks so great

Beyond the blowtorch used to heat the nail and one day I'm sure, catch the curtains on fire this does not look enjoyable. I'm okay with smoking pot but would not be happy if one of my renters was a dabber using a blowtorch in the house.

LOL!! What a dude. "I don't know if this is just because it's the first dab I've done in 4-5hrs. but oh man I can really feel it". <shakes head>

    EDMONTON, Alberta -
On the first day of legal sales of cannabis from Canadian retail stores, a 9-year-old Girl Guide saw her chance to cash in.

Elina Childs of Edmonton and her father showed up at Nova Cannabis on Wednesday, pulling a wagon full of cookies, CBC reported. Elina sold all 30 boxes in less than 45 minutes, earning $120.
