^^^^Interesting take and likely close to the truth. If weed was legal on the Federal level, you know every tobacco company would jump into the game. How the heck are a few buddies and I going to compete against JR Reynolds? Maybe it would end up like beer. You have the Budweiser huge ass companies and then the small craft brewers that still do pretty damn good. Combine your head shop that sells craft weed with a pizza / brew pub next door and I think your killing it regardless of the big guys.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

First of all head shops aren't allowed to grow their own product currently, right? Of course there will be a consolidation of large growers if MJ is legalized nationally, mainly because of distribution problems, but so what? As long as there is still a provision allowing for smaller producers to play, like in your craft beer example, I would think that there really isn't anything to complain about.

Until very recently brew pubs didn't exist. AFAIK you're still not allowed to distill your own liquor and sell it in your bar or liquor store. That certainly hasn't killed the the alcohol industry.

I kind of like the rule that Colorado initially had where dispensaries have to produce 70% of their ganj. Yes it increases cost some but decentralizing production hasn't made it prohibitively expensive. Taxes and overhead to get licenses seem to be bigger factors in high recreational prices. 9 months in I paid <$50 after tax for a nice ⅛ of Purple Kush. Which is cheaper than black market out east for similar quality.

Just seems like a decentralized and locally managed industry can both supply good product/value and offer good employment opportunities long term. Hopefully the MJ lobby agrees.

Read the other day that the moratorium in CO on med shops being able to add rec just ran out and the speculation was rec prices a lot closer to med. I think like another 50 shops and outdoor bumper crop will drive prices down quickly. I would hope 10 yrs from now 200 per zip is the norm.

And two more stores now open in seatown. Still haven't been in but I may have to check out Cannibis City's stock of co2-based vape pens and cartridges. It's been a cludgy rollout, but it's still great to see.

You can get the real o-pen battery that's button free for $20, and not risk ruining a $40+ preloaded cartridge. If you need a globe wax battery or don't have o-pen cartridges you have lots of options. Maya Vapes batteries carry a warranty and are $20-30 with different battery sizes, plus they come in pink.

^ agreed Science is unfriendly to the prohibition crowd. Especially when you look at medical studies outside the USA.

Beloved Nats won tonight with solid defense, excellent pitching and enough pressure to put a few runs across the plate.

The attic and rooftop glow in the ambient light of downtown salt lake city as the full moon rises above the wasatch range, silhouetting plants in the rooftop garden against the brilliance of the plan under discussion, moroni seemingly ecstatic as he raises his trumpet skyward with glee. "My dear bishops," the ganjapreneur exclaimed, "Let the ski corps battle for the canyons and pray for snow. By incorporating marijuana into your church services, we can get a jump on local production and distribution. And when legalization occurs, we'll get tax exempt status for a chain of clinics called deseret herb."
