Blackwater, like the AK47 and Skywalker, just didn't do as well as some of the others. Agent Orange and Chernobyl did better, but not great. Good candidates, but not in the running at harvest time.

All were grown outdoors. Some at 1500' and some at closer to 3000'.

Blue Cheese, Blue Dream and Purple Diesel grown at both sites were fantastic.

Part of it is that the AK47 , Skywalker and Blackwater all smell and smoke much darker and spicier to me. AO smells like peeling an orange. Chernobyl also smells very fruity and sweet. But even those don't compare to some of the others.


Blue Cheese was the best for me. Purple Diesel a close second, followed by the Blue Dream, Dream Queen, Lavender (forgot about them in my initial grading). My wife and a couple of her girlfriends are afraid of the Purple D after a few sessions.

Not 100% on this but I do belive the dispos can sell retail as of the first of the year but they need their retail licence, seprate entrance and such nonesense.

City of Denver will switch to retail right away, most places not looking back on ever selling Medical again.

I wasn't planning on it; but sounds like I should consider. This is the second time around for me with Flo and I pissed her off for a bit and locked her out, so maybe next time.

What else do you know about Flo?

Strain: 1 unknown Sativa (sick), 1 unknown indica (much healthier)

Medium: Organic Cedar Grove top soil (local company)

Light: 4'x4 T5 fluorescents. (20,000 lumens)

Nutrients: Canna - Terra Vega

Soil Ph: tested last night at just about 7 (~6.8ish)

Water: tap water, ph is alkaline, closer to 8



These plants are on week 6 of veg growth. They're still very small because at first I wasn't super committed, and both plants were in the same 1gal pot under just 2 cfls (2400 lumens total, 2700k). Also, the only nuts they've gotten has been what's in the soil until last Friday (5 days ago). It was also 5 days ago I bought the bigger lights.



My Sativa has been struggling, and searching the internet it looked like a Magnesium deficiency. This made some sense considering I hadn't given the plant any food. Like I mentioned in the stats above, I bought Canna Tera Vega nutrients about a week ago, and have been watering with the nutes mixed in at half strength. I've watered twice - last Friday, and last night - with the nutrients in there.



I know the damaged leaves won't come back to healthy, but I'm noticing even on some of the newer growth the edges are brown. Am I expecting the nutrients to take hold too soon? Or do I have another problem going on here? Here is my problem child:

The light you got will help a ton. With the info you have provided I would start with some "root accelerator” and some simple base and grow nuits. Most companies sell their nuits in a base, grow and flower format so just get the base and grow, for now. Add the recommended amount of nuits and root juice per the bottle and PH the solution to 5.8 (this is very important).

What you are seeing is most likely due to the lack of nuits (quality dirt is good for ~3weeks max if you are lucky) and too high of PH. Above 6.2 you start locking out the heavy metals which is in line with your Magnesium hypothesis. During veg I like to add a little “Nitro Boost” by House and Garden. The light green color makes me think you are short on nitrogen too. Cal Mag is another “must have” during veg IMO.

You should start seeing an improvement in ~2-3 days. If not, completely flood the soil with straight PH’d water at 5.8, once the run off is at 5.8 re-flood with the above nuits, also PH'd to 5.8.

Thanks for the great help! I went to a hydroponics shop last week and the guys recommended Canna "Terra Vega" which is their veg growth for soil nutrients. Supposedly they're a reputable nutrient co. http://www.cannagardening.com/terra

That's all I'm using at the moment. Should I also add a root accelerator and Cal Mag? I'm trying to avoid the beginner tendency to over correct and meddle with my plants too much. Will adding that other stuff risk nute burn?

R.e. pH - I've read 6.5 - 7 is good. No bueno? I'm watering with tap currently with half the recommended nutrients added in. pH is high 7's of the water. Should I use filtered? I've heard tap is good source for micro nutrients (Ca, Mg). How can I bring the pH down? I thought a pH under 6 would lead to nutrient lock? So much to learn!

Here's my other plant. Much bushier and overall doing a lot better, but you can see light green on the ridges of the leaves, and some slight browning around the edges of the older growth.

IMO, you need to get this:

General Hydroponics Flora Micro and Bloom.

PH down



Considering that your growing medium is out of food, I would feed them this regimen. Do not worry about the Flora Gro, there is plenty of Nitrogen in the Micro.

Per gallon of water:
6ml of Micro
9ml of Bloom

Ph'd to 5.8-5.9
70% RH in veg until the end of stretch in flower
50% RH till harvest.


Your plants should start looking better in a week or so. This is the same regimen I use on all my plants. I up it a bit in flower for a week or so, add in Calmag at 2ml/gal and I add a product called Bloombastic during the last 6 weeks of flower.

Just a few comments on what has worked well for us.
1) you need really good dirt/food. Buy the stuff I left a photo of below. Then as Bobby mentioned, we give it a grow food every other watering.
2) Lights. I am not a fan of florescent lights. Look on craigs list and get yourself a 400-600 watt ballast system with both veg and flower lights. We grow 4 plants at a time under a 600 watt and it works really good.
3) PH. Get some PH strips. Add 1/3 large naval orange juice squeezed into 1 gallon of water. Test. With our water that is about perfect.
Our girls 2.5 weeks under flower (HPS) light.

Sounds like they targeted a "group" of Owner's that were in violation of several State laws. Everyone is being pretty tight lipped about it so I am assuming this won't impact people that are operating within the State laws.
