Just curious if any of you have experience with the oral swab drug test? From everything i've read,it can only detect THC if you've smoked in the past 24-48hrs. Anyone? I have one on the 25th,and i have little-to-no will power. I wanna smoke

I have heard, if you do the swab on your tongue, it will register clean. You inner cheek cells have the reading, i have heard, but do not know.

So...I leave to go on my ski trip with my wife leaving a few days later on her own trip. I have her take care of the feeding before she leaves so all will be good until I get back. Check the situation out when I get home and find that she has left the incandescent light on for the entire week during the third week of flowering. Good thing she was still away. This was a couple of weeks ago, and have not noticed any ill effects. Everything looks normal with no freaky looking mutations or anything. Thoughts?

Chances are they will herm on you. Keep an eye on them, and pluck any male flowers as soon as you see them.

Worst case scenario is you get a few seeds in some buds.

few butter questions, can someone who is more experienced decide if some of these methods are fact or fiction?

1) Ive heard about adding water to the butter mixture to boil, then put in fridge for consolidation, next day separate butter with water, dump the water keep the butter

2) cook mixture in slow cooker simmering for up to a day (long cook time)

3) rapid boil to evaporate at least half the water, calm to simmer, replace with new water, repeat for cycles for 3-4 hours then off to the fridge for overnight consolidation (faster cook time with a greater range of heat exposure)

4) Combine with just butter on the stove, no water, this way seems like a good way to burn the butter to me

5) double pot the butter, lower pot with water, top pot with butter mixture to avoid burning, this seems like it would get to hot and evaporate the good stuff.

6) what ratios of reactants are we talking about here?

The most common ratio is 1 oz. weed to 1 lb. butter. Grind the weed as finely as you can. Use a a good, fatty butter, as this is what the goods will bind to. No margarine or spreads...If you can get it, Kerrygold Irish Butter is a great choice.

Go with option 5, the double boiler. Use a candy thermometer if you have one, and try to achieve a temp of like 180-200f in the butter. It will not burn. As long as you don't let it achieve an aggressive, rolling boil, you will not be evaporating good stuff. Just let it gently bubble.

You will have to keep adding water to the outer pot to keep the inner pot afloat. 4 or 5 hours is plenty of time. You could probably even get away with 3, but you'll only find out thru trial & error.

I prefer this method to the water method, because you skip the messy step of draining it and ending up with a real slimy product. You also get to wrap the whole project up immediately, rather than letting it sit in the fridge to separate overnight. You can strain it at the end thru cheesecloth, pantyhose, or as I did, one of those perma filters for the coffee maker. It will keep for a few months in the fridge, or longer in the freezer.

All that having been said, I don't really like the butter high! It's like a deep, body stone that lasts like 6 friggin hours. It's not a real "up" high. I think maybe it would be good for someone who is actually trying to treat pain, or anxiety. YMMV.

Go easy with it too. If using it straight up, like on toast, go with like 1/2 teaspoon to start. See where that takes you. Also, it's a creeper high, you may not reach liftoff for like an hour.

1 and 5 are the only options. it doesn't take hours for thc to adhere to the fat. Its a pretty quick process. Otherwise you are soaking up plant matter. Strain the plant out of the butter before it goes in to cool. Unless you like weed chunks in you brownies.

I'm going to add what everyone else is telling you. 1 and 5 are the way to go. The booming method is nice cause you just let it go for like an hr and you don't really have to worry about watching it. The double boiler method works well too. That requires a lil attention. Also a lil trick if the trade is to add a lil oil to the butter. The oil raises the burning temp of the butter.
