What should I be looking at in terms of price, etc for a decent glass piece? I don't smoke all that often, but I'm tired of borrowing other people's pieces. I've seen aqualabtechnologies.com mentioned on here a few times - should I buy one from there or find a store locally? I'm in the Seattle area. What's the difference between a nice piece and a cheap one?

    Ok Problem,
So I was gifted 6 plant in 3rd week of 12/12. This is all colorado medical. I noticed yesterday some bugs on the base of what looks to be a damage stem of the plant. my guess is aphids(looks like the pictures) and because ive dealt with mites and gnats before and they are not that. They appered after watering. I did not see any on the leaves but I assume I will find them with further inspection. Plants probably have 7-8 weeks left. Looking online it seems like Im screwed. Any suggestions? Im thinking azamax drench?
    Thanks

I would hit them with Azamax, and maybe something else a week later (Dr. Doom fogger)

Those are root aphids. If you don't see anything on the buds, then just hit the dirt/substrate.

Buranri: Find a local head shop. Aqualab is more heady glass and bongs. Everyonedoesit.com is a good site for cheap glass though, if you want something delivered to you.

Thanks for the link, I'll look into that. Is there any particular benefit to more expensive pipes?

Glass is glass for the most part. Name brands make it more expensive.

If you are looking for a Spoon or pipe, just find a local place. That way you can handle it, and see if it "fits".

Latin American countries are not happy with the potential end of the war on drugs. Sounds pretty fishy to me. Potential threat to their country's #1 export? Ending to "WOD" might cut funding from the US for their law enforcement? How will they finance political campaigns without the cartels? Or am I reading too much into it?

Luis Videgaray, head of Peña Nieto's transition team, told Radio Formula on Wednesday that the votes in the two states complicate his country's commitment to quashing the growing and smuggling of marijuana.
Videgaray stopped short of threatening to curtail Mexican enforcement of marijuana laws, but his comments appeared likely to increase pressure on the Obama administration to strictly enforce U.S. federal law, which still forbids recreational pot use.

What do we think of this thing? What I like is that it's all-in-one, lockable, discreet...what don't I like (besides the price)?

Yah any more than three in there would really be too much. Just remember the smell. I haven't seen you mention that. If you had company.

Edit: Just make your own cabinet the size you want (put it on wheels so you can hide it). Set it up how you want (hydro, etc.) Lights are pretty cheap for a small space like that. Just put fanspace somewhere and figure out how to deal with the smell. I still have some lights I've been trying to give away. 500W Sodium Vapor and a 1000W Metal Halide to anyone who wants them. Just pay for shipping but they are heavy. Better for local pick-up.

Once you have a nice motherplant you want another cabinet so you can clone from it. There's better ways but I think it would work better than that thing you posted and it would be pretty cost effective. And the lights in that thing are CFLs? A little taller built cabinet and you can just raise a REAL light as things grow.

    Been raping craigslist lately.

I've been getting 1k Digital Ballasts, with 8" hoods, and bulb for 175-200.

Loving the structure on this Headband I am running.

Switching these to 7 gal containers, and then sticking about 40 of them under 6800 watts of mixed spectrum. Veg for a week and then flip em.

Bobby, what do you think of those little grow boxes, or a glass grow unit? Self contained for a closet or apartment?

I would get a grow tent, or just fabricate something yourself.

I don't get the digital ballast hype. Short of the extra heat produced from an electro-mechanical ballast, what's the appeal? They aren't any more "efficient" as the power consumption is dictated by the bulb. I like the fact when an electro-mechanical ballast fails it's usually due to the $20 capacitor that I can swap out myself.

Someone please force feed me the KoolAid.

At retail they are a rip off IMO.

I am getting them for 200 bucks for ballast, 8" hood, and bulb on CL.

They are just a lot easier to deal with, as far as size goes. If you turn it off, they can kick right back on.

I was able to scoop 8 of these from someone who gave up on growing. Bout the size of a PS3 slim.
