Hey Co and Wa mags don't fuck this up. You are the test states for the rest of the country.
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

Its retarded to generalize. Bobby clearly loves living in the WA as much as I love living in Vt. I live 5 -10 from underhill center. Glad you see the merit in North Vt livin'.

Yeah I'd win that bet easy right now- he still refuses the sips of beer or wine we offer him, that and I don't typically keep stashes big enough to pilfer from and he's yet to do anything to break the trust we have in him. But I started @14 as well. Hindsight tells me holding off a few more years is a good thing since it kind of took a hold of me pretty hard at 15-16 before I figured out what moderation was (I kid myself that I understand moderation today). I'd like him to understand that a little weed shouldn't be any different than a few beers, but that at his age a lot of alcohol or pot isn't really a good thing for him.

yeah, holding off as long as possible is ok, for sure a good dad and instincts.

The particular enlightenment and perspective Weed offers, can be taught, even without partaking.

The real shamanic journey can be had when a more mature perspective is perceived in the student.

I hope they offer a better deal in light of current events - if not they could look pretty stupid in a few years if this thing ran good.

Yep. Can't fuck with the feds. It's just not a good idea.

The whole not being able to cite state law, should end up in the SC though.

It seems there could be a seperate thread just for Legal Weed in CO and WA.

So how is this going to work?

Can I go to CO and get a bong hit along with my Beer at the local bar? (THAT WOULD BE SO COOL)!!

What the deal. Who can sell, can you smoke where there is Alcohol, Can you blaze on the street?

In the park? within 1,000 feet of a school?

For me, I am not really an MJ smoker, I don't want to walk around with a pipe and bag of weed in my pocket.

The idea of being on a Ski trip and being able to get a couple hits with Drinks before I sit down to a nice dinner just saounds like something I would really enjoy

    From the Amendment itself:

NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW, THE FOLLOWING ACTS ARE NOT UNLAWFUL AND SHALL NOT BE AN OFFENSE UNDER COLORADO LAW OR THE LAW OF ANY LOCALITY WITHIN COLORADO OR BE A BASIS FOR SEIZURE OR FORFEITURE OF ASSETS UNDER COLORADO LAW FOR PERSONS TWENTY-ONE YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER: CONSUMPTION OF MARIJUANA, PROVIDED THAT NOTHING IN THIS SECTION SHALL PERMIT CONSUMPTION THAT IS CONDUCTED OPENLY AND PUBLICLY OR IN A MANNER THAT ENDANGERS OTHERS.

Going further, Colorado has until July 1, 2013 to implement regulatory distribution procedures. And no later than October 1, 2013, each locality shall enact regulation specifying the entity with the locality that is responsible for processing applications to operate a marijuana establishment.

    Also,

IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT INDIVIDUAL PRIVACY IS PROTECTED, NOTWITHSTANDING PARAGRAPH (a), THE DEPARTMENT SHALL NOT REQUIRE A CONSUMER TO PROVIDE A RETAIL MARIJUANA STORE WITH PERSONAL INFORMATION OTHER THAN GOVERNMENT-ISSUED IDENTIFICATION TO DETERMINE THE CONSUMER’S AGE, AND A RETAIL MARIJUANA STORE SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED TO ACQUIRE AND RECORD PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT CONSUMERS OTHER THAN INFORMATION TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN A FINANCIAL TRANSACTION CONDUCTED AT A RETAIL LIQUOR STORE.

Looks like CO was smart and wanted to get up and running before ski season next year....

It's also worth noting that anyone over 21 years can smoke in CO - you don't have to be a resident of the state.

Also, it's curious to see how...
    (a) this affects the tourism department (billboards around the country showcasing the ability to smoke legally here?)
    (b) if special permits will be given to lounges, and bars to have designated marijuana smoke rooms
    (c) restaurants use Amendment 64 to their advantage when preparing meals. Foods cooked with THC products?

The possibilities are endless. Also, the lawsuits. Do big tobacco companies try to block this Amendment? Think about it, buy a pack of cigarettes for $5 or a pack of joints for $9? And I imagine employment guidelines have to be altered since that falls under state law.

    1) Not worth noting really. It's just like a speed limit or booze regulations, another state law.
    2) There is no change to the smoking laws, and no provision allowing any commercial facility to allow for smoking upon their premises.

In short, CO has not and will not be transformed to Amsterdam.

As much as I love rules and laws, and discussing rules and laws...check out this Aeroponic cloning system we got going on. Mad clones and only $50 all in (maybe).

Delaney's in Denver (adjacent to The Celtic) is an enclosed cigar bar that permits smoking inside, and I imagine they have to prove that a certain % of monthly receipts involve the sale of tobacco products, but it is permissible (probably with a lot of greasing as well).

The non-resident thing is awesome and so smart. CB will be an awesome smoke town.

To someone who was to young to be affected by the sixties - this seems like a revolution I could get behind

Very specific to tobacco. There's a bar in Ouray that qualifies too:

"Cigar-tobacco bar" means a bar that, in the calendar year ending December 31, 2005, generated at least five percent or more of its total annual gross income or fifty thousand dollars in annual sales from the on-site sale of tobacco products and the rental of on-site humidors, not including any sales from vending machines. In any calendar year after December 31, 2005, a bar that fails to generate at least five percent of its total annual gross income or fifty thousand dollars in annual sales from the on-site sale of tobacco products and the rental of on-site humidors shall not be defined as a "cigar-tobacco bar" and shall not thereafter be included in the definition regardless of sales figures.
