    Jay Peak So Far

The following can be filed under making due with what you've got. It's a six minute compilation of whatever I've filmed at Jay Peak this season. It's big and boring so don't bother unless you're really bored. No great skiing, no sic pow, no hucks, and no comedy. Just a little scenery, some mellow music, and a bunch of yahoos. If that sounds like it's worth 50MB, go ahead and download:

Thanks to Mr. le edg for the hosting duties.

Sick and ashamed and happy (and orange = base, olive/grey = gin, blue = Mit, and yellow = Mit's fiance),

that first part isn't the soundtrack to titanic is it?

i liked it, but the place has sentimental value to me. plus that day was my first off trail skiing this year.

so you're not counting what you did on the thicketwhacking day at stowe with gonzo as 'skiing'?

Hey that was actually pretty cool. Liked the intro especially. Now we just need it to snow so you can finish!

Speaking of which I was up at Jay the last few days. Today was way mushy with lots of bare spots and some large sections of rain-induced glassy ice. Awesome

Gin, that's some really nice work. Well done. I'm especially jealous at the amount of footage you have. I only have a total of about 4 minutes right now. And three minutes of that is garbage.

Seriously, great video. Can't wait to see more.

website says it's dumping right now and will continue most of the day. 2+" since 6AM - it could turn out to be a good weekend up north.

It may start out as snow but it looks like it may turn into the dreaded wintry mix. It also looks like Jay will be one of the only places in the east which isn't all rain.

Quiet down with that "wintery mix" talk...focus on the here & now, which is soft, fluffy flakes as of this morning!

Thanks for that, gin. I'm buried in work and haven't been on the snow in nearly 9 months.
Those few minutes of video did me a world of good.

It appears it is a little colder in VT then it was suppose to be. Not that I'm complaining. I was getting really depressed because every time I walked by the TV there was green and pink on the weather maps we are broadcasting.
I can take it when we are wrong about the weather in a favorable way.
