Saw some Sid Vicious's(s) at Alta today. Probably on Mark Abma or Andy Mahre.

They looked pretty sick in the liftline....? (Nothing valuable to contribute, obviously.)

Thank God he didn't. I was afraid another ejaculating penis pic might show up again.

On a happier note. We tested Rossi, Head, Nordica, Atomic, Blizzared, Elan, K2, and a few others will be done this weekend.

And yes it feels good to get done with the main body of this test and proving the ney sayers wrong.

I have to say I liked the malay graphics on the pistol better than these. Still nice though.

malay's work is still there. schmies' is too.

rumor has it the skis have a zipper and a safety pin inside of the transluscent topsheet, and for all the democrats in the house, Pres. George W Bush makes an appearance in his flight suit as well. <-- I think that last bit's hilarious!

Yep, the zipper and the safety pin are for real, I checked out a pair skiing with our K2 tech rep. I dig the color schemes on the Pistols a bit more, though the graphics on the Viciouses are pretty sweet, looks like avalanches and Seth's head exploding, though I didn't see Dubya on there. No real word on how they ski though.

They ski great. I was railing them on the Tremblant hardpack. Basically this was how we tested the skis.

Run down Geant. Basically a long blue/black that is famous for being very firm. Then cut down a closed run that they've been blowing snow on and it is serously crudded up, then over some glade bumps. The ski did great on all, but lumbered a bit on the bumps, which is understandable. But the SV handled great even on small to medium sized turns. But the new fatter PE's stole the show.

    PEs are K2's Porsche Boxster.

Uncomfortably competent given their role in the hierarchy.

Did you tell K2 you were going to post pics of their skis before they release the info, TJ?

are the fujatives still all Jibby McJibberson? because that woodgrain is really nice compared to the propaganda art on the PE's.
As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.

So what about the SV vs. SP as far as skiability? How fat are the new PE's?

I actually liked the SV better than the SP. The new PE's are 85. And I asked the rep if I could take pics of the skis for the site. Chris had no problem with that. Infact they loved it. But Atomic, Nordica, Elan, Blizzard did not want pics to be taken. After going through the test results so far I can understand why a few didn't want pics to be taken.

Oh and on the sites we are adding an review option for each ski. If you hit it on a demo day then you can add your .02 on what you think. We're just working around how to have a review board for each individual ski, broken down by sex and age. That way the reviews belong in a more understandable format for easier viewing.

I guess I'm just too damn old to think that 'comic book' topsheet artwork is cool. The one with the girl on it is especially lame. What the hell is that supposed to be? Anime?

Ya know I didn't, at first like all the graphics used to sell skis today. But now it gives you that "skier psyco" boost on the chair when people talk about them. And yes I know that the grapics can be great, but the ski will be lower than shit.

As far as a skis graphic going to a targeted demographic. Well so what. It helps skiings progression. That's fine with me.

    Hmmm....

Personally not to sure about the graphics, but then not really to bothered about them either.

If the PE is skiing well, then I'll be interested to try them, as I need a new QUIVER next season, but on previous tests, and from what has been seen so far, the Volkl line up is still winning for me.

Although, the chicks PE may be an interesting one for my girlfriend - the ladies skis this year from K2 were possible the best of the bunch.....

Those graphics are causing me to have flashbacks

    duh !

How many 30+ year olds do you see on twin tips, let alone ski them switch? Pocket rockets don't count, and grampa certainly isn't carving pow backwards.

edit: whoa. probably should have said " grampa certainly isn't sking pow switch"

    Cool.

I wonder why they're being so tight-lipped about it on their own forums.

    Answer 1 - Think Gotama (since PR's don't count)...
Answer 2 - Do that many people actually ski switch outside of the park or urban jibbing?
Answer 3 - Does anyone here actually "carve pow" at all?

BTW...we'll all be over 30 some day...
