    Post Choke: By Chuck Palahniuk

Interesting book. Not really sure what the hell it's about entirely, but a good read.

Storyline is about a guy who is a sex-addict and works at a colonial period workshop, where he tells kids some horrible facts about skin diseases, parasites and other lightly disturbing things and then refers to ask their teacher if they have q's, who he has boinked in the last half-hour or so in the barn.

    Got it?

Oh yeah, and his mother is insane and kidnapped him away from his foster parents numberous times, which he is now supporting in an expensive nursing home as she is wasting away.

At night to make extra cash he goes to resteraunts, and gags on food getting people to "save" him and then tries to extort money from them.

    Got it?

Book was pretty weird, great style of writing like Fight club, guy has a great ability to create a picture in your mind, but some of the pictures you don't want there.

    Anybody else pick this up?

I am slowly reading this book right now. It sits on the back of the toilet and I get 1 or 2 chapters per day.
It begs the old question about artists and their audiences: Do you want the artist to give you more of what they have done before and made you love them, or should they show a new hand every time and let their talent carry them through?
I think Chuck is stuck in the previous. Fight Club was awesome, this book has a similar feel but is lacking something. Fight Club seemed to speak to something universal, where as Choke seems to be the same freaky shit but nothing I would attach to myself. I do enjoy his writing and his subjects, and perhaps judging him against a classic like Fight Club isn't fair.
