i was rooting for parko, but gabriel did make it look easy. he's not the most articulate kid though, but that's a given since he is only 17 (and speaking in his non-native language)!
i never really paid attention to surf competitions until RipCurl Pro Search came to SF, and it was fun. i got to hang out with Dean Brady for awhile during the surfrider beach clean-up and meet some other pros. they're welcome back!

Cool shots Jules and SP, must have been cool to watch in person. I need to proho out and get to a contest sometime soon, I always decline knowing the crowd factor. The only somewhat pro contest I watched was "The Game" at O'side Pier when it was first put together. Nothing like ASP but the surfing was off the charts
