    were my hammerheads mounted wrong?

the ones on the right, with the stiffy springs. did the guy who mounted them eff up? notice how much more spring is exposed than the ones on the left, and how the black piece holding the cables together behind the shim touches, on the skis on the right. which is correct?

    thanks.

Springs are fine. The new ones they make are longer, I think to minimize the chance of bottoming out the spring which causes the shim to break for people with bigger boots. As soon as you clip in the spreader will clear the back of the shim.

What's with that cable and how do you lock your heels down?

It's possible that the spring was not seated properly in the black housing.

(This is easy to f up, by the way.)

If you can pull the whole spring thing OUT, then they're done wrong. Otherwise, the above explanation --that the stiffer springs are holding everything under greater tension-- still applies.
