    Half life 2

I downloaded the demo last night and it seems pretty sweet. The gravity gun is fun as hell and all the traps you can kill stuff with is neato-burrito. I don't really feel like the graphics are that insane though. I was lead to believe that this game was going to blow minds and freak out the establishment. The guy's face in the beginning of the game is impressive, looks very realistic...but the game play it's self is meh...

I played the game for a couple of minutes on my brother-in-law's computer over Christmas. Even with his very high end computer I was expecting a little more with the graphics. This is not to say that they were excellent, but considering all the hype the game receive in the past year I expected more. The gravity gun was the best weapon I used especially with the saw blades.

The graphics are slightly dissapointing considering the hype it got.

Best game I've played in ages, combined with the first one I believe it is the best series ever made. But you may need a higher end graphics card to turn on all the goods. The realism of the whole thing is just insanely good, the physics are the best I've seen in a video game. And yes, the gravity gun is schweet. I would suggest that you buy it.

It's pouring rain in SoCal these days and I had a ton of store credit so I went and got HL2. I can't play it though because of some stupid CD key registration that isn't working right. Friggin lame. Hate world. Revenge soon. Take out on all. I think they've taken their piracy issues too far.

The only thing that I don't like about HL2 and D3 is that you need a 256 graphics card and a gig of ram to run the damn things. Sure you can turn all the settings down and make them look like shit but what's the point?

However the HL2 character engine was muchos impressive from what I saw. But I have to give the better graphics to the D3 engine. Even though the enviroment didn't show it off it has BALLS.

Doom 3 is supposed to look just about as good as the PC version when it comes to the Xbox. From what I saw on my brother-in-law's computer it would be by far the best looking game on the Xbox. Personally I will have to see this to believe it.

I wonder what HL 2 will look like on the Xbox?

I've played Doom 3 on a beast of a machine on Ultra mode.

    Xbox will never emulate that.

HL2 is going to come out for Xbox-next which comes out next year.

I'm returning the stupid game today though. They want me to send them .jpg's of the game, the cd-key and my recipt and will get back to me within 2 to 3 weeks. I call bullshit. Computer games suck.

RIP suprnova, next up to the plate: Lokitorrents.

and you don't really need a beast of a machine, I've got a P4 2.4GHz w/ 512mb rdram and a lowly 64mb ti4200 graphics card and I can turn everything on high at 1024x768 sooo... not too bad.

Also, there is no way that any console released now or at any time in the future will beat or even come close to matching a pc for graphical capabilities. It just won't happen.

The next generation console coming should be everybit as powerful or moreso than a computer for at least two months. The console is dedicated to do one thing well, gaming, where as computers must do multiple tasks well. A console does't have to be as "powerful" as a PC and can still have better graphics. Gameplay on the other hand is in the eye of the beholder.

My guess that the next next generation consoles (Xbox 3, PS4) could be upgradeable. After all the lines between PC's and consoles are getting blurrier with each generation of consoles.

HL2 is damn sweet. What makes it great isn't the graphics (which are superb), but the physics engine. To watch stuff move around in such a realistic way is damn cool.
