Minions who Tele ? G3 to R8 anyone?

Currently, I have Targa's with all mountain cartridges on my 04 Piste Pipes and Scarpa T1's.

I am looking at replacing the G3's with the R8's to get a more active feel and still use my inserts. I have thought about HH, but would like to use the inserts on the skis.

Any comments, experience or opinions with the switch? Anyone go the other way- from R8 to G3? Looking to get some input/ feedback.

How much help would swapping in xrace cartridges do?

BTW- I am 6'4"/208 without ski gear.

The inexpensive thing to do is to get the race springs. The all mountain springs are really soft and a big guy like you with T1s needs more spring.

Set up the cable lentgh so that the springs are not screwed way down on the cable, but about half way. The race spring will make a huge difference.

I think cartridges are about $40.

I've gone to 02's and have LOVED the change, WAY more powerful then Targas. Not to say that G3's don't have their place, but power is gooooooood. I tried changing carts(allmtn to race) and all I got with my T2's was crunched toes. When I explained this to Peter K at Mtn Travelers(who knows more about tele equipment then I EVER will) he told me that changing carts only changes how fast the ski returns to your heel, not how powerful the binding will be. With the O2 the pivot is under your foot and further back from the G3 which makes for a very nice solid feeling when you engage into the turn

I am thinking about getting the bishops since I have broken my linkens 4 times in the last year. I need somehting stronger and the the bombers seem to be the only thing burlier than the linkens but i have a few concerns. I was reading on ttips about people losing contact with their toe if they get a bit backseat, what are your thoughts?
