Variable amounts of snow up high on timp near the snowfeild. Noticed a good amount of intsibility in the storm snow going up primrose Thursday morning. Strong winds later that day and night turned the creamy boot deep pow to a thick wind jacked surface by Friday.

I saw these tracks and 4 skiers in Greeley Bowl yesterday (Sun. 10/9/11) afternoon about 1 PM from the Albion Road.

I'm going to be passing through Utah on my way back from a road trip around Nov. 11 or 12. Is there going to be much skiing around then? Are any of the resorts open? What about easy touring options? I'm debating if it's worth bringing my gear with me.

    Thanks.

best answer to all your questions: depends.

if i'm betting, i'd put my money on no resorts will be open by then.
plus skiing that early at a resort in utah really DEPENDS on what you think is worth it. i.e., is it worth it to ski the white ribbon of death for $30-$60?
then again, it could start snowing the last week of october and not stop snowing till you get here and then it would probably be worth it to bring gear.

    it all just DEPENDS

Wait until it actually gets snow. They will look open and still have no lifts running.

these workshops are great the presentations all have q&a after.
I'm not a huge tighty Tysen fan but the presentation he gave on finding a suspect "bathtub ring" of buried surface hoar in certain wasatch aspects was great as was the account of broken femur rescue in mill creek by dk and the crew involved.
    well worth $25

Hiked up to what I believe is called the apron of Devil's Castle on Monday and found some pretty fun velvet turns. It's probably better now since the light snow today.

I also found out I got a job working as a lifty at the bird this year!

With the exception of pockets, I don't think it's deep enough. If we get another 20" and a long cold snap, we could be in trouble. Looks like a nice change in the long range...just hope it dumps a lot.

    crazyskir, how was that exit?

Started off pretty wet here in LCC at 8700' around 5am, temps have been dropping since then. About 3" of some very heavy snow settled first, getting lighter and lighter as the minutes tick.
